For Crest: remember how I said I couldn't explain that thing? Well, look here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grammatical_case

If you scroll down a bit

The nominative case, which corresponds to English's subjective case, indicates the subject of a finite verb:

We went to the store.

The accusative case, which together with the dative and ablative cases (below) corresponds to English's objective case, indicates the direct object of a verb:

The clerk remembered us.

The dative case indicates the indirect object of a verb:

The clerk gave a discount to us.

The ablative case indicates movement from something, and/or cause:

The victim went from us to see the doctor.

He was unhappy because of depression.

The genitive case, which corresponds to English's possessive case, indicates the possessor of another noun:

John's book was on the table.

The vocative case indicates an addressee:

John, are you O.K.?

The locative case indicates a location:

We live in China.

The instrumental case indicates an object used in performing an action:

We wiped the floor with a mop.

In Serbian all of these exist except the ablative case, which we don't have as a separate case but we still mention it in theory. Idk if that makes sense. :P

We don't have vocative and ablative case.

All in all, we have 6 cases.

^I used to know Dutch. I was in Holland for 6 months when I was 3 years old. I spoke Dutch better than Croatian, but when I came back home there was no one who I could speak it so I forgot. But I plan on taking a course this fall.

Especially ours. How to teach them to read as its written and how to read our letters and dont even start with grammar!

laku ocu?

its all very different from our languages and from the languages we learn at school thats why its so hard to learn them :\

laku noch now makes sense  noch, noche, noite in portuguese  almost the same :D

oi polloi

polloi meant? :embarassed:

C is pronounced like English ts. Č is something like English ch. For example, the ch part of the English word chair is something between Serbian č and ć.

If I think of some good examples I'll write them.

... in spanish we write ch directly ... every language have their way to do that, as for instance letter and phonem "ñ" in french is gn, in portuguese nh, in catalan ny.

C: like TS in rats.

Č: like CH in cherry. ;)

sound C in words like case is written as K, while C in cease is written as S.

thanks to clear that. :D

yay finnish.
