itunes help please!

Featured Replies

I have an 8gb nano and have about 600 songs on it. I've been trying to sync more cds through itunes on it, but it says the capacity is filled. what the hell? i thought nanos held about 1000 songs as minimum. There's a big white space that says 'other' - i don't know how to delete this to clear up space. what i'm doing wrong and can you help please? thanks.

The Nano can have 1000 songs on it, if the songs are averaged 3 minutes long and are encoded at 128kbps AAC files, so if your encoding the songs at a higher bitrate or your iPod is full of 20 minute prog-rock songs it's unlikely you will get 1000 songs on the iPod.

After doing some research, I believe the stuff which goes into "other" is the album artworks and any games preloaded onto the Nano.

So you have 2 options, either you do as I do and select songs from your library to put on your Nano or you change your import settings to a lower bitrate (lower bitrate - smaller file sizes = can fit more on).
