2010

sorry if this is a bit too much but I just can't get it out of my head...

okay so people make a big deal about how in the year 2012 the World is gonna end.. Who knows if it's really going to or not. Anyway, not the main topic here.

But I was just thinking (probably because a friend's wife died today of a heart attack and she was only 30.. didn't smoke, drink or anything) & I was watching a futuristic movie earlier & it made me think how when I was younger I was so excited about the flying cars (I'm still waiting for the flying cars!!). I was on an airplane the day before & looking down the Earth, the water, the landscape & the clouds and above the clouds.. so amazing. It was such a mesmerizing view.. flying 37,000 feet high with a wingspan of 200 ft and a massive jet engine (I was seating right next to the wingspan & engine) even though it was shaking at times.. I couldn't help but to feel somehow sooo peaceful & how fragile we really are as humans & that the plane could fall (or something could go wrong & how it would feel if it did indeed go down) I imagined that it would feel like a roller coaster except with a lot more speed & I wouldn't be able to feel the wind on my face then I had to remind myself to stop thinking such things as the plane was shaking & it could go down at any moment. Then I started thinking about things we didn't had decades back..things so simple. Everyone on the airport had their electronic things with them. I can't believe that the year 2010 is just a couple of months away & I can't believe I'm living '09! What else do you think will have in the future? Even though things are bad I'm happy to be living it..... :nice:

The lounge says "Affectionately known as 'District 9'" nice...

is anyone making a metal flower? That movie was sad..I want to know what happens with him after 3 yrs..

Do you guys have anything planned for new year's eve??? I am thinking of doing a massive party! & I am so dressing up for Halloween damn it!

I really enjoy flights. I always ask for window seat

I'm not scared of planes, but I am scared of ferris wheels. :uhoh:

What about planes shaped like ferris wheels?

As long as I couldn't feel the wind on my face, it would be fine. :p

what is it about feeling the wind on your face? I too would probably be scared as well..

I mean I don't like it to be open/uncovered, because I'm afraid I'll fall out.

right about the futuristic movies that turned to be a "fake".

no doubt we have technology that is much better now... who ever thought about the mobile phones just 30 years ago?. :uhoh:

at times i worry about the future but others i prefer not to care much or i won't enjoy my stay here.

btw true, yesterday i randomly happened to talk with my dad about the Pope and those predictions saying the current one won't live long, then will come an Anti-Pope and then last Pope we'll ever have... :uhoh:

In my short life i've noticied those predictions don't use to be right (as when some group of people said the end will be on a friday at 5pm spanish time... that must be the end of the world for bull called to be died on a bullfighting. :uhoh: )

is funny to watch old futuristic movies and see how those are not right. :p but scary when you notice some of those predictions turned to be right :worried:

btw i still have a Pelikan futuristic pencil cage which says "2010", it have a futuristic picture like a spaceship pilot or something  (and my dad got it when i was like 3 or so  )

I can't imagine what technology will be like in the future... it's advanced so much, even since I was little (which wasn't too long ago).

me too! The last roller coaster I rode.. I was so scared! I wasn't scared to be on the roller coaster but scared because I was afraid that it was going to spin upside down and the bar didn't even covered me at all! I had no protection at all..but good thing it did not go upside down.. I only got covered in water. It was a water slide ride!

Well, strangely, I'm not scared of roller coasters. I love them actually. :nice: I guess I just don't like ferris wheels because you're up there for so long, and it goes so slow...

Ferris Wheels are the best! Take in the scene, see the sights, and at all different levels! Chicago's World Fair gave us the first glimpse of one in 1893. I like the coasters too - especially the cork-screw sections of track - that's the best!!:P It takes a few rides to get used to them - I think it's the feeling of being on something that's just going along, going to flip, and you've got no control over the thing that's the most frightening thing about them (at least initially, then it's like flying!).

Enjoy the 5th time around.

I actually enjoy roller coaster rides. They are fun! I only get scared when the security bar doesn't go all the way down to secure me (like I am open, I can fall off) that's when I get scared but I still go for the ride and hold on to dear life haha:lol:
