TyM218
I agree with the 9th fret not on the G string but sticking to the 12th fret sounds better for me
princesanji
huh?! HORRIBLE! IF you begin with the 13 on the e string, then you're a semitone too high... though if you'd like to continue, you HAVE TO play 10th fret on the g string... what jonny actually plays is that: e--12----12-----------9-------9------ b-------------------12-----12------- etc. pp. g-------9------9---------------------
PianoRocker
There's a version where Jonny plays this instead of the normal version: E||--12-----12---------9------9--|--12-----12-----12--9------9--|| B||----------------12-----12-----|-----------------------12-----|| G||------9------9----------------|------9------9----------------|| D||------------------------------|------------------------------|| A||------------------------------|------------------------------|| E||------------------------------|------------------------------|| I like how he played that way, but I can't find anymore where it was. And I also like this version(skip to 5 minutes.) : [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9tpXC0woMD0]YouTube - coldplay performing yellow and in my place live[/ame]
Tnspieler1012
sometimes bands will uptune or detune the arrangements to best suit the singers range, there's no debate over whether or not he plays it on the 12th and 9th frets, the only exception I've seen is an acoustic performance where Chris didn't have a capo.
