She's dead she won't care or know if you put a wink after it!

It might sound harsh but in the face of death we have to laugh... either that or we bury our heads in our hands and tear our souls out!

Also true.;)

People went way overboard about Michael Jackson's death too, particularly as he almost certainly contributed to it in some way.;)

So true!

I have had a genetic condition since birth, and even though I'm 100% healthy, I have been told that I am more likely to do of it (from complications in years to come) than with it! But I don't go around asking for sympathy, infact I hate sympathy. If anything people should feel sympathy for the millions of people dying in Africa every year!

Celebrities should go jump in a ditch!

:)

That's a great attitude to life :D

I hate sympathy too >.< I don't get it much, but i don't like it.

Also true. So I take it your condition is incurable?

Yes... they hope to have a cure within 5-10 years! It's a bit of a fucker cos the nature of it means small fleshy lumps grow under/on the skin as I get older! And all the other possible scary complications that I could experience! Doesn't matter though. I have my annual check-up/MRI and so far after 22 years everything is ticketyboo... and touchwood it shall stay that way.

As Coldplay said 'life is for living' and that's what I do. I'm grateful that I wake up everyday healthy!

What's the condition called, then? Is it extremely rare?

Neurofibromatosis... there's two types, I have type 1, the less severe one... but it still affects 1 in 2500! However it comes in all shapes and sizes, literally! Some people have obvious disfigurements, others may not even realise they have it!

:)

Hey Emma find the cure for me ;)

One thing's for sure - there's no cure for the likes of Paris Hilton!

Don't wink :laugh3:

Unfortunately I am one of the ones who have it obviously. Click on my facebook link and you'll know what I mean... I'm the dashing gentleman with the green black hoodie ;)

Unfortunately too there's not much I can do about it... I had an operation when I was 1 but it grew back.

Well they so whatever doesn't kill us makes us stronger :)

Anyway I have turned the mood of this thread sour!

Well I guess it's better than talking about celebrities!

I'm glad... I always appreciate it when I open people's eyes!

There are too many people out there who take their life for granted!

:)

Today has been a weird reflective day.

We were talking about people we lost and memories we've had with them...

I couldn't do it,

Fourtunatly.

I've never lost someone.

I have lost relatives, death is part of life, and yes it's scary, we'd be lying if we said it wasn't!

Have we even mentioned the show in the past 2 pages ?

:P

Which show?

I'm not a big crier in situations, but i don't think i'll be able to handle death of a close one.

I tend to be very calm in bad situations.

When my brother had a seizure,

my sister got all panicy and running around.

I just went out my normal morning because the last thing my mom needed was me asking questions and panicing.

I cried later when she said to me,

"Do you even care about him" :(
