uuhhh, the bass is soo wrong - it actually is right, but not at the right time! -

the singing... isn't really good and the guitar is a bit rushy and the electric lacks some reverb and basses (and distortion), too loud in the verse and it's kind of wrong sometimes...

and the entries, so when you are starting a new instrument or start singing again, are off beat...

at least what you are playing (= the tabs) seems to be correct

phew, sounds hard, but at least with that i'm telling you what you can improve and not just saying "not good, forget it".

Try again ;)

yahh i know what you mean, my garageband kept stalling on me and the bass would get screwed up.

yahh my singing sucked, i just did it quick so that i would have vocals though :p

yah i dont have many things i can do with garageband i want to get a new program but its a bit expensive

yah i understand thank you though i appreciate it :D

Please make a better mix, stopped it after a few seconds.. can only hear singing cymballs and a very little bit bass.. de guitar is somewhere in the distance at a very low volume.

I don't give you any advice before a better mix appears, sorry.

What exactly freezes?

Mute the vocal, turn up the guitar untill you get a good instrumental mix.

Some handy tips to get a good mix:

PAN

-Pan the rhythm guitars to L or R(keep it on 80% or less)

-Pan the drums a very little bit to the L(not more than -3).

-Pan the bass a very little bit to the R(not more than 3).

-Pan the lead guitar to 1/3 of the panned Rhythm guitars or keep them center.

VOLUME(neutral = 0)

- Volume the rhythm guitars to about -15%

- Volume the lead guitar tp about 5%

- Keep the drums at neutral.

- Bass depends on your taste, listen until you have it good.

MORE:

Double track the rhythm guitar to both sides, use more pan to make a wider field.

If you use a piano, use only one guitar track and pan it to about 50-60% of the left or right.

Pan the piano to about 30-50% to the other side.

Add reverb to guitar, drums, piano and a little bit to lead guitar and bass.

Now put your vocals track back on and make it center.

Put the volume down to -10/0%.

This will be a better mix.

What system do you have?

Do you use the GB Metronome?

For recording, I have a tip for good software: http://www.reaper.fm/index.php

Oh and you have Garageband, so you probably use a Mac?

If so, to check your system info do this:

Go to  > About This Mac

Type that info in here.

First get the last Apple updatesa that are available.

Metronome should be auto-enabled at startup.

If not, go to Control > Metronome.

I ask you that, because there's a option that will Count 4 beats before it starts to record, that can be your 'mess-up' problem.

If so, go to Control > Count In, see if it's enabled.

Also, start with the drums, use metronome and record after the drums the bass, after that rhythm guitars and keys. After that record the lead guitar and as very last the vocals.

It's the best to mix the instrumentals before you record the vocals and lead instruments.

Update your OSX, it's old.. go to  > Software Update....

You can also get some more memory, it's pretty low what you have there.

I just downloaded this program, it's great!

One thing I'm having a problem with is that the 'Monitor' sound from the input is out of sync so I can't hear myself playing :\

The only advice I have to give you is to practice performing. A lot.

Put the music through your headphones, rig up a microphone, and then get the microphone's output to go through your headphones as well - so you can hear yourself AND the song at the same time.

Now just practice infinitely until your timing is flawless and you're hitting the notes in your sleep. :)

The road to music is one of repetition and hard work, no one has shortcuts but some people do take longcuts. "Don't try and reinvent the wheel" is some very good advice when it comes to music. Just take it slow and only start posting your videos to youtube or the forum when you're confident about them. :) People take you at your own word, so if you say it still needs work, then youtube surfers will likely bypass it! sad but true ;)

That said, your cover isn't so bad as some people here say. You do have the skill there, you just need more practice time. The headphones-mic-song setup was the most effective for me, if you find something else that works for you then go for it!

Most of all, good luck! :)
