With more than 50,000 miles under his belt and having visited 14 countries, it really is easy being green for Kermit the Frog.

Well, it is for this one after a couple decided to show the green Muppet the world.

From the Sydney Opera House and Big Ben to Times Square and the Vatican, Kermit has accompanied Markus and Conny Morgenroth on their global adventures.

Travelling threesome: Conny and Markus Morgenroth and Kermit have visited 14 countries together

The places they’ve visited include Germany, France, Turkey, Korea, Indonesia, Australia and South America.

They even documented the trips with a series of photographs showing the TV star at some of the world’s most famous landmarks.

Software manager Markus, 32, said he had a life-long passion for Kermit and decided to combine his love of travelling with his toy.

He said: ‘I have been a big fan of Kermit since I was young and I always loved to watch Sesame Street because of Kermit.

‘We had the idea to start making pictures with Kermit about two years ago, and it just took off from there quite literally.

‘I loved the idea of taking Kermit to real-life places and putting him next to real-life things we all recognise.

‘My wife then bought me the Kermit puppet and we saw some other people had taken pictures with the toy on a skyscraper in New York.

‘We decided we could do better and set off on this amazing journey, we have had a great response from everyone about our pictures.

‘The pictures we have taken are from individual holidays and Conny and I like to travel whenever we can.’

But it wasn't all plain sailing, Kermit was even ‘rushed to hospital' at one point after fears he had swine flu.

Luckily after X-rays he was given the all-clear to continue his adventures which have now covered four continents and 21 different cities.

‘It was all a bit of fun, but then the doctors actually made some real X-rays which are great to look at,’ Markus said.

Markus and Conny, 28, from Frankfurt, Germany, have now returned from another leg of their travels after arriving back from Australia and Fiji.

Amazing adventures: Markus and Conny with Kermit on their wedding day

He said: ‘Strangely Conny wasn't a fan of Kermit until he came to us, we would both love to meet the real one, but to us he is already living with us.

‘All trips to me had something special, especially the moment when we walked on the Hollywood Walk of Fame where Kermit has his own star.

‘If there was one place in the world I think we would love to take him that we have not been it would have to be a little place in Texas which is actually called Kermit.

‘We also still need to visit all five continents so it would be great to take him to Africa.’

Markus and Conny's website, http://www.kermit-on-tour.com, has been voted one of the best in Germany and they were even invited to appear the national radio station.

And they have promised it is not the end of Kermit's world tour with plans to visit Portugal, Lithuania and Belgium later this year.
