Radiohead - Live in San Diego (Pit)

Featured Replies

You guys... I feel like a changed person this morning having experienced Radiohead live at the Coors Ampitheatre last night. I was in the pit and I must say, it was a crazy experience. I had been in the pit at the railing at Coldplay when they played the Cox Arena in San Diego some months back, but for Radiohead... I was probably the third row back from the railing. Let me tell you, I sweated and danced like I was the female Thom Yorke. And speaking of Thom Yorke... all I have to say is WOW! It's not in the same way I would say "wow" about Chris Martin or even Jack White. Thom is incredibly awesome to watch perform. He stands alone. He was laughing, smiling and totally enjoying the energy of the crowd. He blew me away. Then Jonny was also amazing to watch with all his "mad scientist" mixing and playing.

I know that this was the best concert experience of my life. By the end of the show I was soaked with sweat and exhausted... yet I was amped up.

After the 2 1/2 hour drive back home and collapsing in my bed I woke up this morning and felt like I was the luckiest girl in the world. :D

If anyone here was at this concert, share your experiences too!

amen sister :D

one day everyone will realise...

Glad to hear you experienced the wonderful Radiohead vibe , i know how you feel as i felt the same when i first saw them back in 2001 ( Tent Tour ) london . and im looking foward to seeing them in november at earls court . Thom is just simply amazing to watch performing and they are one of the few bands that put on a lengthly show .

i can imagine your head is still buzzing with excitement and will be for the next few days :wink3:

HTTT :sneaky:

I saw Radiohead last night, too. I wasn't in the pit, but I still think I saw an amazing show.

Thom was a lot more affable than I expected. It really brought a lot to the show, as did the lighting effects.

I do have to say that some of the people around me took away from the experience, though. There were plenty of anachronisms of concert goers; ironic, because just before radiohead started there set an attendee behind me commented how "Radiohead fans are a lot different than other fans."

Yet there was still the obligatory pot smoking.

There was still the constant standing. This is more of a pet peev of mine. I understand people like standing, and I don't mind the occassional standing for a highly anticipated song. But standing for the whole show? That's what the pit is for, and I don't begrudge anybody's enthusiasm or pit priviledges. But I bought a seat for a reason.

There was disco-esque dancing. A lot. During inappropriate songs. Dancing during "Idioteque" I understand, but anybody who listens to Radiohead should know that there are only so many songs to which you can reasonably dance. A pair of people were doing this electric slide-style manuever across multiple seats. It was distracting and a little rude to the people behind and beside them.

But overall, the show was remarkable. There were multiple times I looked around, saw all the people so devoted and commented internally on how lucky I was to be there. Bought a $30 shirt as a momento. Was moved to a huge smile more times than I can count. Stayed up until 4am this morning buzzing off the show.

Saw White Stripes, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Evan Dando, Radiohead and Mogwai in ten days time. This had been the best multiple-performancer concert week of my life.

Well that's awesome that you got to see the show. I was in the pit and almost ended up kicking some girls ass. I am not the aggressive type, but this girl pissed me off so bad that I almost let lose on her. My husband had to hold me back. :veryangry2:

I saw White Stripes on Wednesday night at the Greek Theatre and I am now in love with Jack White.

I've seen some insane set lists from Radiohead shows. This show in San Diego (my tickets cost $47.50US) went about 2 hours and 15 minutes long. I honestly can't remember how many songs they played, but I definitely don't keep like my money was wasted. I really felt I was seeing a classic band perform and felt very fortunate.

Slightly off topic, I'm sure everybody has seen the Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel have reunited for a tour. It's not my thing, but I checked Ticketmaster and the cheepest ticket is $50US. Main floor tickets are $125US.

So much for the US's stuggling economy (if anybody ever believed that anyway).

My friends went to see Radiohead this weekend... :bigcry: And I didn't win tickets to the Breakfast with Kevin and Bean. :bigcry: But I just realized I can listen to it on the KROQ site. :smug:

:idea2: You can guys can listen to it as well: http://www.kroq.com (it's under Kevin & Bean sounds). The Coldplay breakfast is still there, as is the Dave Matthews interview. :)

Radiohead live!!!! how lucky!!! have fun! they always play like 25-30 songs. most of my radiohead bootlegs are 2cd's :P

Can't wait for their concert in T.O.... in 2 weeks.. Amazed that I got tix for the pit....

:) :) :)
