QUIZZES NOT CAPTCHAS! may the biggest fans get the best seats!

Featured Replies

Ok

so I've always had this idea

You know how when you buy concert tickets you have to type in the captcha thing (and its always something obscure like "heavy coddlefish" or something random

well instead of that

it should be a flat price for all the seats and before you purchase your tickets, you have to fill out a quiz on the band/ musician your going to see

and you will be seated based on your scoring

people with the lowest scores on the lawn

and the die-hard fans up front!

its the fairest way to go

no more rich, unresponsive snobs standing like zombies in the very front, wikepediaing coldplay on their iphone.... as the band is playing

...yeah.....that was a personal experiance

anyone agree??

ideally that be a cool idea to get the die-hard fans to get the best seats (as it should be), but not very realistic. the bands... or rather the management/record labels will always go for the people who are willing to pay more money regardless of if they are a fan or not.

My theory is they should charge X amount of dollars for a show. And then fans purchase tickets at their own price, but the show only happens if X amount of dollars is raised. So you could get hardcore fans who want to spend $100 for a ticket, and then people who could get in for $2.

And then the setlist could be determined by people bidding on songs. Purchasing songs and where they want them in the setlist.

^that's a good idea, but who knows how many people are going to pay a fair price for a ticket

Maybe if rock bands were willing to give their multi-million dollar pay packets and earn the same as everyone else then we wouldn't have these problems with ticket prices. Until this recent tour pearl jam tickets averaged approx $60 for their 3hr shows.

I don't quite agree with the knowledge based allocation of tickets. There are alot of people who love the music of a band but know very little about the band itself simply because they don't care about anything but the music. A knowledge based system would just favour your fangirls/fanboys rather than those genuinely passionate about the music.

Briggins can we call that the In-Rainbows-Live theory??

^Pretty much yes. The In-Rainbows-Live with an asterisks theory.

It is completely unrealistic, but would be funny.
