i wish i had learnt german instead of french at uni, cause what i learnt there is the same i studied at high school taking french as first foreign language.

i'm learning french too. but only for two years, so i know very little ;)

you know, kindergarten is the same in english and german :D

^German is also similar to Dutch wich is very funny 'cause if I hear it I undestand a bit but I don't speak it :P

^ yeah, it's the same like Latvian and Lithuanian. but i know that people who live in the north near the border can understand latvian ;)

yeah i've heard that, i tried to learn it on my own recently and to me i find more latin similarities than english, at least for the grammar structure, words yes can be similar phonetics as english.

The thing I found hardest to get at first are all the different verb endings for you,us,we etc and masculine and feminine for objects which English doesn't have, I think Spanish has them too?.
