Coldplay Pedals

Featured Replies

I'm looking for some good pedals to add effects to my new Les Paul Standard. I have a Marshall Class A tube amp, but it only has treble, mid, and bass controls :P. I got a BOSS DS-1 for distortion and it doesnt work for Coldplay and other songs, so Ill be returning that. Any pedal recommendations? Distortion, delay, reverb (RV-5??)?

Jon uses his Volume pedals pretty much all the time btw, and his set-up is very unique, bloody marvellous too!

describe it to me, I haven't paid enough attention, I was gonna go and get my crappy elec set up, and just so i know what to sorta ask for y'know?

For coldplay songs i use line 6 dl4 for delay, ernie ball volume pedal, boss rv-5(modulated reverb) for songs such as death and all his friends, lovers in japan, and many many many more... fulltone ocd for his overdrive sound, and a stompunderfoot tri fuzz(shiver, and songs with distortion)!

For me this works good, but i would like to use a vintage rat instead of that tri fuzz stacked with the ocd!

All this with a 72 jap thinline plugged into to a deluxe reverb amp...

I suggest that you try boss rv-5, fulltone ocd or a tube screamer kind of pedal as a start, then later on look for a delay and a volume pedal...

do you have any budget?
