So when you're saying how far away something is or something

Featured Replies

do you use amounts of times or the distance?

Here basically everyone measures distance by time kinda, and if someone asks you something and you give them an answer in kilometres or something they'll be like "watt" and make you tell them the amount of time it will take them to get there because that's what they wanted to know.

Sorry if I'm not making sense.

I just wanted to make a poll. :cheesy:

It's there now. :blank:

I don't know how to explain it better. :bomb:

Erm..

:idea2: I get it

my answer is ... distance !

I use distance, so people will figure out how long they will reach a certain place. But it depends if you consider other factors life traffic or etc.

I know what you mean!

I say both I think but voted time.

I suppose time is easier for people because driving 9km on a motorway or 9 km inside a city is a big difference. :)

It actually depends. Traffic in Malaysia can be horrible. I would say time, but the phrase 'depending on traffic' ought to be in the same context.

Time. Because I don't always know exactly how far away places are, so it's just easier to say, "it should take you x minutes/hours to get there."

Distance means nothing to me, haha.

Time, I have no spatial ability so distance is pretty impossible. I've also read that women are worse with distance.

It depends-

If use distance it's usually 'down the road 'or 'across the street'...

But sometimes I'll say 'about half-an-hour from here' if I'm talking about the next town over or something. I also use it if I'm talking about headinga 'few hours away'.

so I guess I use both all the time.

... That is what were talking about?

OUR TIME IS RUUUUUUUUUNING OUUUUUUUUUUT.

/spam.
