Intolerable Cruelty

Featured Replies

I guess I just like takling about the movies I see, so I'll go ahead and post my thoughts on this one too. I saw Intolerable Cruelty (IC) today. It was surprisingly good.

When I went to the boxoffice I was debating whether to see this or Veronica Guerin. This one won only because the time was ten minutes sooner and the movie has been out longer. To my surprise the theater was quite full, and there were numerous times throughout the showing that the three hundred or so people there burst into laughter.

The movie was very funny. Both Catherine Zeta-Jones and George Clooney played their roles really well, but the true stars of this movie were the story and the Coen brothers. If you at all liked Raising Arizona or O Brother, Where Art Thou, you'll really enjoy IC. It's right up there with Raising Arizona.

I enjoyed this movie just as much as I did Kill Bill (which I saw earlier this week). On my incredible pretentious 1 to9 scale I'd give each a 7, unable to choose between them because they are such different movies. I left the theater after this one (IC) with a deep admiration for the Coens ...

... and a need to pee.

I really would like to hear what other people thought about it.

I really want to see that film. It will be out here next weekend.

But I'm a bit scared 'cause I didn't like the last film of the Coen brothers. In fact, I rented it and I only couldn't stand it for 30 minutes, aaaaaargh :P

ugh...I have no need to see that movie...

i was supposed to see that today. but then my friend called me 10 minutes ago and told me that she rented the italian job. :D so i'm seeing that soon. :D

You probably won't like this movie, then, unless the Coen brothers movie to which you are referring is Fargo. If you're refering to O Brother, Where Art Thou? then you won't like this movie at all.

This is definitely a Coen brothers movie. The whole movie is based upon their sense of humour.

No,no, I'm refering to 'The man who wasn't there'...

'Fargo' was cool!! And 'O Brother' was strange, but funny :smug:

Oh! I totally forgot about that one. I'll rent that this week and watch it. I want to try to watch those few Coen brothers movies that I have yet to see. That's how much I liked IC. Right now, though, I've rented Confessions of a Dangerous Mind. It is overdue and I've yet to return it.

That was directed by George Clooney? I'm not sure if it was out here on cinemas... Is it ok?

mmmmmm

i love catherine zeta jones

She's really beautiful... :D

:o

that's funny because i didn't like it either....just not my kind of movie.....but then again i did see it on the same day as the texas chainsaw massacre (which was waaaaaaaaaay better)

i just didn't want to say it, but since you did i'll come out of the shadows and join you ;)
