The original by Dylan's pretty good.

This is an existential mediation on the demons that Dylan was facing throughout the 1960s. The entire song is a metaphor of his sudden rise to fame, and the hypocrisy of people like those at the Newport Folk Festival, who castigated him simply because he had become rich. When he hums "Friends," he is referring to those who would accept him regardless of his stature. "Which seat should I take?" reflects the conflict of adhering to an entire community's whims, or living an independent life.

Okay, the original is sooo good~

But, I did d/l RBs version :dazzled:

(That's not a real Bob Dylan song everyone)

When Bob Dylan says in the song he is looking forward to the weekend, it's an allegorical representation of a more just society, a world where all people are equal. His emblematic lyrics of how "we all - are looking forward to the weekend," evoke ornate emotions, especially feelings of sympathy and compassion to those, subjugated by corruption and hatred, who may not presently be looking forward to the weekend now, but in a more just world, will be soon

Oh, and I suppose this song has nothing to do with the Civil rights act of 1964? "Front seat or the back seat, which one do I take?" Then a meditation on escape through substances "Partying, partying, yeah!" The human spirit can not be stopped, unless by self destructive habits. Beautiful, only rivaled by Wood Guthrie's "Baby"

Knowing Ivit, she probably thought it was the original.

this won't get out of my head and I still don't get why if she was supposed to take the bus she had to decide what seat to take in her friends' car. :|

This song was playing in my head all day. And I had a math test today. yay. :|
