I hate making decisions but ahhhhhhhhh

Featured Replies

uh yes. :|

Well, some of you guys might know that I'm going to America this fall. :charming:

I'm having some sort of dilemma to choose which university I should go. So far, I already got accepted by Penn State U and U of Minnesota. Currently, my interest inclines more towards Minnesota, but blergh it changes almost everyday :|

Penn State has the best geography department in the states, but Minnesota is no worse, they rank 3rd. But Penn State is located in a very small town (to me, I think) of State College, while Minneapolis is a huge city. The weather in Minneapolis sometimes can be crazy, conventionally colder than that in Penn State. :wreck:

Another reason that I prefer Minnesota is... ugh this might sound stupid but well err I had a conflict with a few of my batchmates here, they formed a groupie and they sort of hate me. :| And they'll go to Penn State. :veryangry: So since Malaysians will most likely stick together for a few months there, I think I will probably need to deal with them for quite some time, which I actually try to avoid to D:

And I have sent my application to U of Wisconsin too, but they haven't released any decision yet. It would be a bigger dilemma for me if they happen to accept me as well.

I am indecisive. ;__; Help :|

I didn't know you were coming to America this fall! :awesome:

Based on what you've said, it sounds to me like you are leaning more toward U of Minnesota.

So, you are going for a degree in geography or something? That's what it sounds like from your post.

I say... apply to U of MICHIGAN. :charming:

No really though, go with your gut... and it seems like your gut is telling you Minnesota.

Michigan-Ann Arbor? :surprised:

It's pretty hard to get into U of Michigan since the admitted transfer student's average CGPA is 3.75 and above.

Mine is not that high :disappointed: /feels dumb

You're right, my gut is telling me to go to Minnesota but I don't want to freeze during winter :wreck:

Is it really that cold up there? :uhoh:

come to England and study at the University of Manchester where I hope to be in a few years :awesome:

I wish, but my sponsor only sends students to America. :disappointed:

But the coldest (coolest?) temperature I've ever experienced was around... 13 to 15 degrees Celsius :|

Do you think I'll have tough times to adapt over there? :|

:awesome:

Probably :laugh3:

It's not going to be -10°C within two weeks, so you have some time to adjust

Oh

Is there a huge difference between the winter in Minnesota and in Pennsylvania or Wisconsin?

Go to Minneapolis, it's a great city! Well, I've only been there once. But it was cool.

And it's not that cold there! Where I live is colder, and I survive! :laugh3:

Decide already Ruby so i can book my flight and visit you :wacky:

Not really. Minnesota probably gets a bit more snow, but it will be cold in any of those places during the winter. All of those will be below 0 degrees C on most mid-winter days. An average might be around -5C to -10C, I think?

:surprised:

So I don't have to worry about the cold weather, I bet?

Uh, no, I suppose not if that's how you want to look at it.

So, where you are, have you ever seen the leaves on the trees turn color in the fall? If not, that's my favorite part of the year, you'll love it. :wacky:

:awesome:

I think U Penn is a slightly better school all around, but you don't just have to worry about the education. How are you going to study and do well if you don't feel comfortable?

As much as I'd love for you to go to U Penn (only like 3 hours away from me :cheesy:) if you think you'd be happier at U Minnesota, then go there fo sho. :nice:

Do you mean autumn? :P

yeah that

I think it's nicknamed that because of the falling leaves, although I could be wrong.

But anyway, it's not UPenn, it's Penn State. :|

I don't deserve to go to UPenn :disappointed:

I call it fall, I don't think I've ever called it Autumn in my life. :P

^Oh, okay.

Then my suggestion is head on over to Minnesota. :wacky:
