Coldplay: 'Kanye West changed our perception of music'

Featured Replies

Kanye is a genius. And Chris is right- even by listening to Kanye's last album it was genre leaping, but it worked so well.

An racist artist that has built up a career by sampling other peoples work can never be a musicial genius......

as much as i hate rap and r&b kanye is an absolute genius and i personally love his ignorance and his whole character. brilliant music too

Yes Chris, imo I think he's changed your perception of music for the worse.

I really like Kanye West and he is very good at putting songs together with very different sounds, coldplay on the other hand...

"My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy" is a MILESTONE. You guys should go and actually LISTEN to it.

I don't mind Kanye being a douche as long as it's warranted. His music allows him to be a douche in my book.

I just read that. I don't think Chris is "praising" Kanye at all. He's just saying "Kanye West crosses genres" and the media twisted his words. Kanye was an example.

Tinie Tempah was also mentioned. But, according to the story, did Chris "praise" him? No.

Yes. Yes it does. Kanye is the shit. Tinie Tempah, on the other hand, not so much.

Definitely. And I don't even like hip-hop except for him and one Jay-Z album.

I like Jay-Z, but he's so terribly overrated it's ridiculous.

Sorry if this has been posted already, but...

“Also, I’m always looking at Kanye West and he’s moving so fast, doing such amazing work that I want to keep chasing him for a while. I don’t want to give up just yet.”

I like it, since My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy I really got into Kanye's music and he is actually really good and always moving forwards :)

it depends on what you do with the samples. I agree with The Final Track, of course he can still be a genius, whether using samples or not.

It's copy pasted article, this is the original article.

That Chris Martin knows a thing or 2 about music. I'm not into Kanye's music myself, and was surprised to learn he wrote this:
