Beatles LOVE Album-styled Coldplay Album sharing?

Featured Replies

You might know about the Beatles' LOVE album, but if you don't, I'll explain it to you. The LOVE album is a project created by Beatles producer George Martin, who, as their producer, has access to alternate versions of songs. So it's basically an album made out of Beatles songs mixed with other Beatles songs.

As the Coldplay fan I am, I think this would be great idea to do with Coldplay.

So I pull out GarageBand and make a 21-song chunk of Coldplay. I didn't do as much remixing as George Martin did, because I'm not a professional like he is, but I made sure the whole album transitions and flows together correctly, and it ended up sounding rather nice. The whole things is over an hour long, and is actually part 1 of 2, so I'd love to share it with you guys.

The problem is, since only three songs on the album are B-Sides, I can't post the whole thing for download. So here's my question to you guys. If I were allowed to post or stream this, would you want to hear it?

And to the mods, if they do want to hear it, how would I make this possible?

I'll put the tracklisting in a spoiler box below just in case some of you want to be surprised, and remember, more is coming soon, and I couldn't put ALL the best songs on just Part 1.

Umm, no.

It's a remix album for Cirque du Soleil. And a more recent example is MJ's Immortal remix album, also for CdS.

I don't see Coldplay's music as fitting for such show. :|

And I don't care much for remixes per se. Very few are as good as or better than originals.

I'm very sorry, I forgot to include the Cirque du Soleil part.

Also, I said specifically in my post that it was not as much a remix album as the LOVE album, and I concentrated on making songs flow into each other. The only remixed track is #16, and I combined the two versions of Talk.

I personally don't like remixes much either, but I am asking for opinions, so thank you for yours, and it's okay if you don't like my idea much.

I like LOVE very much. When it came out it was my first introduction to The Beatles when I was 16. I really love the versions of Something and While My Guitar Gently Weeps on that album, maybe even more than their originals.

I would really like to hear your mix. How can I get to it?

Oh OK, I'm sorry for misinterpreting it.

So the only real "remixing" will be of the beginnings and endings of songs so that they flow seamlessly?

I'm OK with that. Btw, I think that MX is exactly what you wish to achieve.

I'd love to put it up on YouTube, however it'll have to be split into videos for each song, so it'll ruin the idea of the whole thing. I can't give you guys a download link, but I'll try to see if I can stream it somehow. When I have a solution, I'll let you guys know! :)

I'm sending out download links to all the people who voted yes on the poll, tell me what you think! The songs are all changed from the originals for transitions, so they shouldn't be against the rules. :D

i'd like to hear it too, it could be interesting :)

Maybe you could upload it to Soundcloud? Would that be legal?

Like I said before, I'd like to hear it if at all possible.
