Basement Jaxx

Okay, I can't find a thread for this band, so I'm starting one. Am I really the only fan?

Basement Jaxx were formed in the mid-90s by Simon Ratcliffe and Felix Buxton, two producers and DJs from Brixton, London. The band were part of a wave of dance music in the late 90s, influenced by Chicago house, and they had early hits with Red Alert, Rendez Vu and Bingo Bango. 2001 and 2003 records Rooty and Kish Kash respectively were nominated for the Mercury prize, and the latter won a Grammy in 2004. In 2005, the duo headlined Glastonbury, and to date, they have worked with such recognized names as Yoko Ono, Dizzee Rascal, Lily Allen, Paloma Faith, Kelis, Sam Sparro, JC Chasez and Robyn.

I believe they're one of the most exciting dance acts of the last decade. They're colourful, ambitious and influential. They're the sound of multicultural London at the turn of the millennium and they have an almost unique sound.
