When searching for a relationship, does music really matter that much?

Featured Replies

Just so you know all of our kids are gonna be named Harry Styles (we have nine), hope this is okay with you.

So long as we have a david bowie jr I can live with that

the music doesn't matter. so forget about it and look at the good side

Well if you like someone you probably have some similarities in your thinking and interests...but music taste isn't a big deal anyway:thinking:

I think it doesn't matter that much as long as they understand how much you love a certain band or genre~~

sometimes considering things like music tastes can make someone miss out on the really great sides of the person....the last guy i liked is into rap and stuff but he's a really nice guy and he's really cool....i'm not really into rap but i didn't care that he liked rap...

When I met my boyfriend, now husband, he said the only music he liked and listened to was videogame music. I love so much stuff, especially Coldplay. I remember making him about 20 CDs and slowly I got him to like different things. Now, we go to Coldplay shows, and other shows together and enjoy listening to each others interests. For me it was important that he be open to trying other things other than videogame music. If he wasn't that open to trying new stuff it would have been difficult because i like sharing music with others and going to shows. But, even if he wasn't that open to different musical tastes, I am glad I didn't dismiss him, he has other great qualities that make up for it!

So, my advice for you is don't judge him based on one band, see what else he likes and what his other qualities are and if he would be willing to try what you like as far as musical taste.

^ awww! that's such a nice story!
