How are you gonna fake your death then?

Maybe fake her death too so that everybody thinks you've killed yourselves together. Then when you reveal you are both still alive say 'oh god no, I don't even know that girl and she's kind of annoying at times, why would I enter into a suicide pact with her?...'

 

That might break the ice on bringing up the subject of her annoyingness.
