Rhodes on Parachutes?

Featured Replies

Hey Guys,

This might belong in the Parachutes forum, but since there are many keys players here, I could use some help! This has been driving me nuts...

Where and when is there Rhodes piano on the Parachutes album? Does is just get lost in the mix of electric guitar/bass?

Thanks!

Yes the Rhodes is used on the album. It is used on Track 10, Everything's Not Lost and maybe on Track 1, Don't Panic.

It can be heard on Don't Panic just after the intro (at 0:10) playing chords over the verse.

(It is probably there throughout the song, but here you can hear it more clearly.)

I don't know about the other songs, though. I'll have a more careful listen later and let you know what I've found.

And are you sure it is on Don't panic in the verses because that sounds like the chords Jonny plays live with the wah or phaser. I think the Rhodes is in the piano solo verse.

It IS the same chords, yes, however I still think that they are not played by guitar. There is no strumming sound whatsoever, and all the notes are played simultaneously and uniformly. (Of course, I could be totally wrong about this :D)

True tho there are some chords that aren't played uniformly. But they could be glissandos on the Rhodes. You're probably right lol
