Real or Fake? Song leak?

Featured Replies

Sorry but in reality, this guy sounds just as nasally and strained as Chris does.

:'( blunt honesty = crey

Ms. Tash, why are you certain it's fake?)

How come definitely?

Videos like this have been posted before and they all turned out to be fake, probably made by the same person. You can hear this person is trying to sound like Chris. And the sound quality is crap, a real demo or song recorded in the studio wouldn't sound like this.

Soz. :\

But I am the merchant of DOOM. I mean if anyone enjoys his voice or thinks its beautiful, fair enough, but it is always strained, nasally, and when he transitions to the high notes its like shooting a ball of paper out of a flute. If you enjoy that.

It's just a little bit silly if people can't somewhat recognise this within their Coldplay universe.

This sounds like the same type of song leaked a few years ago but this time the voice is more clear.

"I'm a huge Coldplay fan but I reckon that Chris Martin's voice is absolutely horrible", said no one ever.

I'm a huge Coldplay fan but I reckon that Chris Martin's voice is absolutely horrible

:wacky:

But uh, the irony, is that yes nobody has said that ever, and nobody has claimed anybody has said that ever.

I made it clear that if anyone likes the sound of his voice, thats fine, obviously you can't think it's horrible if you like the sound of his voice, but to think that Chris Martin doesn't sound nasally? You'd have to be completely deluded, and know nothing at all about singing.

If anyone likes his nasal singing then fair enough, but it doesn't change what it is.

I just mean that being a fan is silly. When interacting with fans you have to expect that they think their favourite artist is perfect or nearly perfect, because that's what being a fan is. Calling them silly for that is silly, or hypocritical.

How is that hypocritical in any way?

I love Neil Youngs music and his voice (After being accustomed to it) but I acknowledge it's incredibly nasal sounding, same with Bob Dylan or Tom Petty, like I couldn't imagine saying someone sounds MORE nasal than they do because that's practically impossible without closing your mouth and humming. If anyone likes it then fair enough thats their choice, but he's undoubtedly as nasally as it gets, and this guy singing in the original post can't be more nasally (There's every chance he's singing through his nose to sound more like Chris).

Oh, right, that wasn't what I got from your posts (and actually at the time i posted that last one, your last post still stopped at the first sentence). Of course his voice is nasally, my point was: don't tells fans that they should recognize that their favourite artist's voice is annoying as shit, that's being silly or hypocritical.

Yeah I'm watching football and golf so wasn't thinking my earlier posts through and edited the 2nd one to express better.

Just to make sure, you are actually reading what I've written, right? I have said more than once if you like the sound of his nasally voice, then fine, the same way I like Neil Youngs, but if anyone doesn't think it's nasally, or someone could sound even more nasally than Chris Martin, I don't understand them.

I didn't tell anyone or try to force anyone to accept that his voice is "annoying" or "horrible" as you bizarrely seem to keep saying, just that's it is nasally, that's all, I don't get whats so hard to understand, and I get even less why you keep thinking it's hypocritical, is this some new word you like to throw around or something?

No ohmygod are *you* reading my posts ?! I just said that at first I didn't get your point but that now I actually do.

edit: And YES OBVIOUSLY I was throwing that word like that, because that's what I do, that's who I am, I'm stupid like that so I just like saying things that are totally unrelated to my point. Fucking Christ.

When you wrote "My point was.." I thought you were re-iterating it as still being your point, I don't see why it needed repeating. Even re-reading that post it still looks like it, but fair enough I mis-understood what you're now saying.

Well you still haven't explained how it's hypocritical so pardon me for getting a bit arsey about it but it's frustrating. Instead of getting like that maybe just back up your point.

Hypothesis: someone who has been on a fan forum for years says that fans are silly for not recognizing that their favourite artist's voice is annoying (or other negative quality).

Being a fan is by definition a bit silly. As fans, people tend to not hear some flaws, or they really ignore them, because they're sort of deafened by their huge love for their favourite artist, in a way.

So, knowing that, I think that telling those people that they're supposed to recognize their favourite artist's flaws seems to me hypocritical.

Now I reckon that it may not be the most fitting word here, it was just the one that first came to mind. Happy, now ?

I read this like 4 times, then left it for a few minutes to settle, then read it again, and absolutely no idea what you mean. The middle paragraph about saying that fans are (In your opinion) instantly silly or biased is just, insane.

Not really, I asked first of all to explain why that's hypocritical, and then not only do you ignore explaining it but in your next post but you say it again without anything behind it. I wasn't attempting to mock you or anything by originally asking how it was hypocritical, I just wanted to know.

And then you have the audacity to act all pissed off with me because you wouldn't explain it in the first place, like am I supposed to just keep politely asking for an explanation without showing any sign of frustration?

OK, whatever, happy now.

It's not insane. You'll hear everywhere on the internet from lots of Coldplay fans for instance that Coldplay are LITERALLY PERFECT. Of course Coldplay aren't perfect, everyone knows that, but a fan loves pretty much everything their favourite band does, that's just how it is. So, yeah, when you're a fan, you're biased and you're a bit silly, but you know it and you're perfectly fine with it. Ok, that does sound insane. But being a fan is insane anyway.

edit: and the tones of your posts definitely annoyed me, which is why I sounded pissed off. I was. Maybe you weren't attempting to mock me, but to me it kinda sounded like you actually were.

Well I hate to be like "She started it" but what do you expect when you set the tone.

"I'm a huge Coldplay fan but I reckon that Chris Martin's voice is absolutely horrible", said no one ever.

Like not only did you attempt to mock me but completely exaggerated what I was getting at for comedic purpose, so even though my initial response to this was straight to the point and respectful, I wouldn't feel bad at all for mocking you if I had chosen to.

Oh and I do need to acknowledge that I've read that and have nothing to add. :blank:

I think I let that go already as a point I'll never understand so clearly I can live with it.

Despite your sarcastic apology I am actually sorry if you were pissed off, I don't recall seeing you get frustrated before on this forum like ever, so it's really not what I like to see.

Hahaha, oh my, I've said similar to him but in private.

Well at the very least, we made a fairly useless thread have something of interest in it.
