AROBTTH and Scientist Guitar tuning

Featured Replies

Like a few other tracks on the album, the title track on AROBTTH is not only not in standard tuning, it's is not tuned with A=440hz. The tuning for anyone interested is E-A-D-G-B-C. I have also determined it's approximately 18 cents sharp, just sounded right by ear. could be 15 could be 20 not sure. The scientist played acoustically uses the same tuning although it doesn't need to be sharp. He lets the c note ring open throughout both songs. I'm referring to videos of Chris martin playing the scientist on guitar, obviously he plays piano for the album and live.

I appreciate it honestly. I listened to it today and was like, man that was terrible. i sharpened the tuning on my part, i think it's more like 23 cents instead of 18. funny how things can sound different with earphones and other monitors. thank you though!

I redid my recording over the album track. improved hopefully, at least timing and volume wise. It might just be me, but I think the tuning might slowly change from the beginning to the end of the song, as far as a reference pitch, which is quite something to decide to do. I included more of the scientist as well. If anyone wants me to post a tutorial I'm happy to for either song or both. I haven't checked if they're already posted but who knows, my interpretation is by ear so it might differ anyway. Cheers :)

Good job, Charlie. I downloaded your version and put it in my iTunes library. :)

Oh, your Soundcloud picture is nice and funny. :D

Thanks guys :) that tuning is tricky. Warning sign is the same way except it's consistent throughout the whole song.
