KingChris
I love playing exactly what Chris Martin plays, especially when I play acoustic guitar. Cause every other way you play it just doesn't have the Coldplay sound. Couldn't find the chords for Magic so I tried to do a tab. Please help me out and make it better! To me it sounds exactly the same, but I would love to have a professional opinion. I'm just an amateur. Listen to my recording for the rythm. For example the first 3 chords are played very fast after each other. 0--0--0--0---0---0--0--0 7--5--3--3---10--0--5--0 6--4--2--2---9---8--4--1 7--6--4--0---11--9--6--2 5--4--2--2---9---7--4--x 5--4--2--2---9---7--4--x 2x End bit: -0---0---0 -0--10---0 11---9--13 12--11--14 12---9--14 10---9--
KingChris
For A Sky Full Of Stars, I figured out these few chords. I wish Chris played it live. Capo 2 -0--0---0---0 -0--0---0---0 11--7--11--10 13--9--11--11 13--9---9---8 11--8---0---0 And from 3:21 0--0--0 2--4--5 2--4--6 2--4--6 0--2--4 0--x--x
Ash-MT
From what I've come to realise with a lot of their songs; Chris is a big fan of the thumb wrap around, which can be a tad awkward when you have short fingers like I do D:
marc240
After listening to the song a few times and watching Chris play it in the BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge, I've found these chords (which are a bit similar to yours) with a different tuning (EADGAE) : E | 0---0---0---0---0---0---0---0 A | 0---0---0---0---0---0---0---0 G | 6---4---2---2---7---6---4---1 D | 7---6---4---0---9---7---6---2 A | X---X---X---X---X---X---X---X E | X---X---X---X---X---X---X---X They are played with the same rhythm you used in your recording. No way to play these chords without it.

Will try this when I get home! Thanks. I don't know which video I watched but to me it looked like he was fretting the B string too. But I think you're right at the BBC Radio 1 session it looks like he doesn't. Should be easier too.
KingChris
Looking at the picture of Chris with Avicii, you can clearly see him play 688660. A chord shape Chris uses a lot. So have to look at my tab again, that's not in there :P
westergs3
Hello fellow acoustic lovers :wink3: Lol. I love acoustic songs and to play it in the guitar but I can't read tabs :( What can you suggest? Where can I learn to read tabs?
Charlie17
i'm not great with Tablature either. Basically, each chord is organized in column, either a number, an 0 for open or an X for muted is given. The numbers mean the fret being played and the string it's being it's being played on is which row it's in. So. for example, an Eminor chord. in standard tuning. (E-A-D-G-B-E) would be (0-2-2-0-0-0) the way I write tab. the way most write tab it would look like this, or the way it's written above, I'm assuming the high e string is at the top and low E at the bottom, (Which by the way I believe tab is traditionally done) an Eminor would just look like this E--0 B--0 G--0 D--2 A--2 E--0 Does that help? Hope it does. let me know. take care
