Google Chrome Help

So I don't know if this is just happening to me but ever since chrome updated to the newest version it stopped working on my computer. Every time I try to open it, it opens briefly and then freezes. I've tried un-installing it and re-installing it, deleting all of its files and it still doesn't work. Does any one know how to fix this?

If Chrome loads up, then it's definitely an extension causing the problem.

I don't have any extensions installed and it freezes up so fast that I can't get to the settings.

In that case, try going here and download a previous version of Chrome: http://www.oldapps.com/google_chrome.php

Uninstall first, then install the older version.

 

Also, are there any error messages when it's closed? Like an error code or something similar?

Ive tried that as well and it doesn't work. I think I just have to accept the fact that chrome isn't ever going to work on my computer any more/ Oh well it was a sh-tty browser anyway.

What Cobalt said. I believe it's a virus, installed as an extension which is causing the freeze. But if you're really keen on quitting Chrome, then do join the Firefox clan :)

Haha, good to hear! I usually use Chrome for all my Google essentials, like mail and drive. I haven't tried Waterfox though. Maybe sometime soon...
