COLDPLAY MULTIMEDIA MONTH - AUGUST!

 

Hello everyone, August is upon us and its the time where the winners of last month's Coldplaying contributor contest are announced. From this month, there will be different contest. As there is a quiet period of Coldplay news and events and the gap between albums and tours seems to be forthcoming (bar September), it is a perfect opportunity to revitalise the Coldplaying multimedia forum, the wonderful download section of Coldplaying that is the reason many of us joined the forums originally! (myself included) We all want to see the multimedia forum bursting with life and that life is for every Coldplayer to complete their rare and live collection or for a new fan to discover Coldplay a complete new level! The goal is to have pretty much the complete Coldplay back catalogue on the forum so we can all make that happen over the coming weeks :)

 

 

One thing you may have noticed already is I have added different colour tags to the multimedia forum. [Active links] [Dead links] and [Request] for the labelling and organisation of the forum! The moderating team are doing a great job organising everything. The multimedia archives are massive so we have generally labelled everything further than the past year as a dead link for now, the more recent ones are being looked at and labelled accordingly so over time, this will become as accurate as possible.

 

 

Everyone can be a part of this multimedia revamp so please feel free to go through your folders, old pc's/laptops, anywhere you have anything Coldplay related that is not widely available (remember, the usual no purchasable media etc...). Batman's multimedia thread has been very popular and you can check out the list of media uploaded by Batman so far. Indexes will be made as all of this starts to take shape. The easiest way to spot an older thread or if you want to search for media is to select 'search this forum' on the multimedia section and you can simply search for threads or posts, matching 'jools' for example if you want to see the Jools Holland Coldplay performances.

 

 

Contributor points and prizes :

 

 

During August, you will get at least a point for every Coldplay multimedia upload and there is the opportunity to earn even more for Coldplay rares, fan made playlist's/edits, artwork covers, articles about your favourite collections of rare and live tracks and much more. There will be challenges posted over the course of August on the contributor forum so keep an eye out!

 

 

1 point for the re-upload of a dead link

1 point for a regular piece of Coldplay multimedia

1 point for a graphic/album cover

1 point for other/miscellaneous Coldplay multimedia

3 points for a fan made Coldplay album which is edited throughout and has a theme (ex : like Car Kids by Hurts Like Heaven, not a mixture of greatest hits)

5 points for writing an article about the highlights of your Coldplay collection, favourite live performances etc..

 

 

Prize for 1st place : Member of the Month and a Coldplaying Twitter takeover for one day! *not the actual account but you can post and reply to others, i'll be on hand to do so*

 

2nd and 3rd place : A set of Ghost Stories buttons
