June 23, 200422 yr Ok.. Tricotar means knitting. But here in brazil, it also means "to gossip about whatever you want". Tô is a short version of "estou". past from the verb "estar". Ooops... Hope I explained well :/
June 23, 200422 yr My major in college was Languages. I could teach portuguese and english. But I simply can´t teach. First because I´m too shy to talk in front of many people and second because I just can´t handle teenagers. I´m too stressed :P
June 23, 200422 yr I hate to deal with immature people!.... :dozey: ...I couldn´t be a teacher too!... :D
June 23, 200422 yr I had to do a training period(estágio) during my second and third year in college. I went to the school I studied, talked to the principal and she allowed me to attend classes there. I didn´t have to teach, just watch the class and the teacher (teachers hate trainees, because we do a report on them too). Some kids knew me because I studied with brothers or sisters. I was at a high school class (senior year I think) and this guy knew me. we studied together on elementary school. I was almost graduating from college and he still was in high school.

First because I´m too shy to talk in front of many people and second because I just can´t handle teenagers. I´m too stressed :P I used to think as you, Denise. But i'm volunteer of Junior Achievement, an ONG (in portuguese) that "uses hands-on experiences to help young people understand the economics of life. In partnership with business and educators, Junior Achievement brings the real world to students, opening their minds to their potential. After all, kids are our future" (i took from the oficial site.... :D ) and as volunteer i started to "live" with a lot of teenagers. but when you say/explain to them important things about economy, marketing, etc... they really respect you and get you as an example of professional. it's really great.... (i said it nowadays, cuz i use to hate them too)

June 23, 200422 yr yes. my father is greek. and when we have parties as weedings, "batizados" and other kinds of parties they break plates while dancing.... but theres a special way to break them. you have to "joga-los de boca para baixo"....(não me contive, tive que escrever em portuga :D )
June 23, 200422 yr acredita-se que ao quebrar os pratos você está se desfazendo de energias ruins e, portanto, atraindo coisas boas...nada científico, mas....
