Don't use eBay.

I was fucking ripped off $30. After complaints and all that shit, I'm getting half of my money back... because what I got wasn't what I was told I was getting.

Fucking rip off.

:( That's too bad. I've never bid on anything as I don't trust others.

I've gotten ripped off at a few deals as well. Long stories. Argh.

Ha! I thought Ian made this thread :dozey:

Kettercat, is there any other way that you could get your mum's present? :/ Some people are so mean! I bet they wouldnt want the same done to them

Well, I got the present... only it wasn't what I was told it was  and definitely not worth the $30.

Anyway, I've managed to get my money back... but "without the shipping charges" which were $13.30

Fucking bastards.

hah!

i wouldn't rely on ebay if i had to have something in by a given time, or if it has to be something really nice....

afterall, ebay is just an auction, it's the individual folks who're selling and buying things on there (or at least that's what i think it is...lol).

it would be best to shop and touch and feel the thing you're buying :-)

it was something other than what was being sold?

you can get them in trouble for that and get all your money back. i think. if that's not what you've done already. if so nevermind :P

i love ebay. stuff i can find at any store near me i won't buy off of there, but if it's stuff i can't find at a store then i get it. :P

I got kicked off it before when I used to use it, because I placed bids on a bunch of stuff, won, and never did anything after that.

The second is why I buy stuff instore even if it may be more expensive... or not. Shipping costs are a lot to here.

The first is why I don't bid. You can't trust some individuals to be honest.

LoL@Twix's reply.

mousewings must get a lot of twix-type people too, who run up the prices on auctions and then end up not even shelling out money!  :P

I've never actually had an auction on eBay. Just on Neopets (a virtual pets site) and there you have to pay up (in Neopoints) to get the items.

I'm just very suspicious of people since I've ended up winning a prizes from contests and never got them. One illiterate site owner even accused me of lying when I said I didn't get the prize. Makes me glad I never purchased from her.

I even ordered a CD from a company and it took them 6 months to ship something (not the CD since they ran out and didn't tell me) here. They went bankrupt later. So... I don't trust people. Rant over.

It was actually a perfume I got... I asked the seller if it was 75ml, she said yes, and when I got the package I thought I was going to faint -- it was 7.5ml! That was fucking ridiculous. I ordered two of them and all!

I have to admit I've bought so many things on the internet and that was the first time I ever got conned.

Well I don't really think she did that on purpose, maybe it was a simple mistake... but a mistake that cost me $30

hahaha! wow...only 7.5 ml? that must be just pure perfume (not eau de toilet or eau de parfum)...

was the perfume at least really really good? i mean, did you mum like it?...that's all that counts, in the end

That sounds unfair. $13 for two 7.5 ml bottles? I think she was ripping you off. Also decimal points are very important in this case. 7.5 ml vs. 75 ml is a huge difference. If she was professional she would have emphazised it.

It's actually $16... $13.3 was for shipping

I do think it was a mistake though, because she has about 3000 positive feedbacks... she probably just mistyped it or anything.

Anyway, I'm sending both bottles (mini-mini-bottles actually) back to her and I'm getting my $16 back. A shame on the rest of the money though.

I meant the $13 for shipping. My typo. For two small bottles, that's ridiculous. DVDs ship for only $4 CDN here and they're larger. :/

i guess bottles are more "fragile"? :/

but i understand...shipping/handling many times ruins the "good price" you thought you'd be paying! lol

Yep, shipping is another reason I don't order much online. It's a killer to Canada if it's from GB or even US sometimes.
