Okay, most of you people won't know what the hell I am talking about. But Kapa Kitchen will return to Bochum to play Caboose in Starlight Express. He's the best Caboose ever. And Bernie Blanks will return to play Rusty. *teary-eyed* That's so exciting!

I so have to go there again, it's been 4 years almost. *sniff*

OMG :stunned:

Indeed!

Kapa went back to New Zealand and worked as waiter. I thought he'd never come back, he'll be 44 this year, which is pretty old for a starlighter. But I guess they found out noone can play Caboose better than him. :smug:

Kapa Kitchen = Starlight Express legend!

I saw him in a musical gala in Hameln, too.

Bochum is in Northrhine-Westfalia, which is in the West. It's close to Dortmund, Essen etc. Used to be the industrial center with coal mines etc.

i see. cool :-)

how did he get to be a legend? i mean, why do everyone like him above other male actors in SE? as far as i could tell, the red kaboose didn't have a huge role in the story, did it?

Noone can do Caboose's hysterical laughter like he does. Plus, he has a very good voice. He isn't the most popular StEx actor I guess, but one of them. The most popular one could be Bernie Blanks, even though he hasn't been in Bochum for ages. I dunno if it's still there, but fans used to spray "Bernie Blanks I love you" etc on the walls to the upper part of the theatre. They prolly painted the walls again though.

Oh yeah, and Kapa Kitchen was a member of the cast in 1988, which is when it had its premiere. He was only an understudy back then, but one year later he was first cast Caboose. You can hear him in that role on the German double live CD. In 1990 he was first cast Rusty, in 1991 first cast Caboose again (you can hear him on the 1991 studio CD). Then he was understudy again but came back as Caboose later. He also played in Shakespeare & Rock'n'Roll in Berlin when he was on a break from Starlight Express, and he toured Germany with the gala I mentioned above.

Oh oh, and his first TV performance was in "The flying Kiwi", a New Zealandish series in the 70's. :stunned:

The role Caboose was taken out in the Londoner production, which made the whole plot there quite illogical. But he was part of the story in Bochum from the beginning on. One of my favourite roles.

:-) i see....that's so cool! i had meant to ask this before, just didn't get to it for various reason! :embarrased:
