you aren't at uni, mean you are 19 as me... you take a break at uni to get the job? or next year will be your first year at uni?

I wish, I could have gone to uni this year, but I have to do my civilian service - If i recall correctly, we talked about that already. It was this work you have to do, if you don't want to go to militia, you know?

So next year will be my first uni-year - I think, the semester will start at Octobre for me.

Anyways, did you already have lessons at your uni?

yes i remember that, i didn't know you have to do that civilian service before get to uni... i thought it was more or less in the middle... :/

uni's cool i sure you felix ;)

yes i started lessons this week, our accounting teacher told us to do some homework the first day :o and also for this weekend and i did it today so tomorrow i have no homework to do :p

that's smart :-) When I was at school, I did my homework on the very last day (or I didn't do it anyway).

Aaah... somehow I enjoy this homework-free time I have right now, but I'm looking forward to meet some new people who start studying at the same time like me and are new to these uni-things, too :-) Unfortunatley there won't be very much girls who wanna study my subject (physics) - but we'll see ;-)

i used to do the same as you felix, but experience teached me that is better do it as soon as you can, because then it won't be hard. daily work makes less effort at the end ;)

if you do homework daily you revise the lesson and you don't have to study a lot when you'll have exams ;) and you won't feel lost at the next lessons.

oh well in my subject there aren't too many guys too (just 8 guys) and most them have a gfriend..

:/ but my neigbour is studying architecture and he said me that in his class they are 50% girls and 50% guys more or less, so may be there are more girls in your degree than what you think now. ;)

That's all true, I'll think about that ;-)

8 guys at a tourism-study? How many people are you all in all? I thought, there were more boys interested in tourism. Well I hope the best with the girls in my courses - but it's physics, it has to do very much with mathematics and stuff... so I don't think, that there will be many girls ;-)

we are more or less 50 people. :stunned: and just 8 or 10 guys :stunned:

well some girls like maths... not too many girls but there are girls who like maths. :)

Well, I have to admit, you're very right!

In my math intensive course there were more girls than boys (i think 6 girls, 5 boys) and most of the girls were very nice! Let's hope, that it'll be the same at university ;-)

Song of the day:

Fields of Gold

You'll remember me when the west wind moves

Upon the fields of barley

You'll forget the sun in his jealous sky

As we walk in fields of gold

So she took her love

For to gaze awhile

Upon the fields of barley

In his arms she fell as her hair came down

Among the fields of gold

Will you stay with me, will you be my love

Among the fields of barley

We'll forget the sun in his jealous sky

As we lie in fields of gold

See the west wind move like a lover so

Upon the fields of barley

Feel her body rise when you kiss her mouth

Among the fields of gold

I never made promises lightly

And there have been some that I've broken

But I swear in the days still left

We'll walk in fields of gold

We'll walk in fields of gold

Many years have passed since those summer days

Among the fields of barley

See the children run as the sun goes down

Among the fields of gold

You'll remember me when the west wind moves

Upon the fields of barley

You can tell the sun in his jealous sky

When we walked in fields of gold

When we walked in fields of gold

When we walked in fields of gold

By Sting

Yeah, Sting's a great singer - The Police was great as well!

I'm in a a internet café because I missed the bus. Is raining and very cold. So I thought I'd come here to talk to you for a few minutes. :)

How are you?

About the thing you were talking about...I'm twenty and I still haven't finished school. :( This is different from country to country... I could have gone to the Progymnasium one year earlier, but still I would have started Uni in the age of twenty.

I think most boys are better in maths than girls at least here. I'm not very good at it, but I'm not bad either. I probably will have it in the first year at Uni as well, depends on which Uni I will go to.

Hi, sally, nice to meet ya! I'm fine, and you?

Finishing school with 20... yeah, that's late but not THAT late. I was the second youngest of our class and finished school with nearly 19... and now I have to do my civilian service so I'll start studying with 20.

Nice one! :)

My song of the day has to be advertising space by Robbie Williams. I found it on the internet the other day. It's brilliant. I don't like tripping. He should have released this one...its so much better!

I'm fine...it's a nice evening except that I missed the bus and have to wait till 23:40.

Today wasnt nice though. Troubles and home. Nothing really new. :/

yes i like the police and sting but seems nobody like them here... i made a thread about them while ago and it 'dead' too quick :(

so in your country how old are you when you get ot uni? and then uni or any degree how many years are? i mean here you get to uni when you are between 17-20 depends from where you come from (a-levels or a-levels and a course) and there are degrees of 3 years and degrees of 5 years. when you finish a 3 years degree you can study some 5 years degree so you study just the last 2 years of the 5 years degree, i hope you understand it.

Well, you finish the Gymnasium (grammar school) in the age of 19 or 20 with the Matura. You have exams in all the subjects you had at school.

How long you have to study depends on the subjects. I will have to study five years. You have the Bachelor after three years, if you wanna do the Master it will take you two years again.

yeah... going by bus always sucks, in my opinion. Hope, these troubles go over soon!

Hmm... I think, it's very different here in germany. Usually you're 19 or older when starting uni. Most degrees go over 10 semesters (=5 years), some are shorter (e.g. 6 semesters), some are longer (12 semsters). We have the new bachelor/master-system since some time in some degrees here. You can finish your study after approx. half the time with an bachelor-grade - or you do the full study with the master-grade in the end.

Actually it's very complicated here - I haven't understand this system completely... I jsut want my diploma in physics, that's all ;-)

Yeah, go get your bus and goodbye =)

so you want to do a master that's cool sally. when we finish high school we have to do an exam of all the subjetcs (well really only 6) to get to uni. :)

which subject do you want to study sally?

we have cuatrimestre (4 months), 2 a year, so that's 6 cuatrimestres for a diplomatura (3 years degree) and 10 cuatrimestres for a licenciatura (5 years degree). :)

our prime minister want we have just 8 cuatrimestres in diplomatura and licenciatura, i think that's complety stupid. :stunned: and wants to ban some subjects as history of arts, philosophy and many others. :stunned:

What? History of arts and philosophy are very important subjects! Especially the first one... Has your prime minister gone crazy? ;-)
