  1. It's an American society were musicians and composers register their songs to get royalties
  2. Remember this song Chris sang about Julia Roberts' smile at some charity event the other day ? The band actually registered it in ASCAP....
  3. Anyone ? I'll give you a good hint: This doesn't have anything to do with the colour purple, and you don't need to know any songs or really anything at all about the band Deep Purple.
  4. Thanks ! :) I have to say in that context (black civil rights, Malcolm X etc.) he in all probability meant Martin Luther King though
  5. In presume you mean Lost+ - that is correct ! Lost+ has the Jay-Z lyrics "...sue you, you settle" which is, ironically, exactly what happened to the band in the Viva Era with Joe Satriani's plagiarism suit against Viva La Vida. The entire Jay-Z lyrics were later reused in a song of his own called Most Kingz, which also features Chris Martin on vocals. The Lost single cover depicts a part of a map of Brazil.
  6. No Think again, which song collaboration has some lyrics that describe something that (quite famously) happened to the band in the very same Era ?
  7. Don't worry, this can indeed all sound misleading or confusing at the beginning !
  8. Actually, not the band but Chris Martin has signed on, only as the curator of the Global Citizen Festival for 15 years (from 2015 to 2030). That means he chooses artists for the festivals etc. Doesn't mean he or the band have to appear. :)
  9. Welcome to the forums ! I just wanted to caution that unfortunately, it is as of yet not clear if Coldplay, who are currently on a hiatus, will play in any of these events. In the past some Global Citizen festivals either only had a brief appearance by Chris for some non-Coldplay songs or no appearance by either Chris or the band at all.
  10. New riddle: Where Coldplay goes over to Deep Purple and vice versa, find an unreleased song from the time before that happened.
  11. OK, here is another good hint: This song is a collaboration.
  12. No, I don't wanna make super-hard riddles anymore, at least not for the time being. And sorry for the delay...
  13. I'm actually thinking of one...
  14. It doesn't sound like the same riff to me at all. Also, a PA cover wasn't on the setlist of this gig. I think this could really be a snippet of If All Else.
  15. About the first song up to around 0:40, the consensus somehow is that it is So Sad. Trombelese and Big Fat Noises weren't songs but rather, as they say in the video, potential band names they were thinking of before they went with Starfish for their first gig. The second snippet from 0:40 to 1:13 - I have no idea, could either be Vitamins or If All Else. I'd tend to say If All Else because I read an interview with Nikki Rosetti (Safety EP producer) who recorded Vitamins and said it was just Chris on acoustic guitar. From 1:13 on you can hear Ode To Deodorant, which of course was leaked. Unfortunately, neither the concert nor the other recorded tracks were ever leaked.
  16. True :) MattMcGinn was also seen at the Bakery a few days ago, so it could definitely be some kind of recording activity...
  17. Jonny being at the bakery doesn't have to mean they're working on new material for an album. It could be anything - work on Live 2017, work on a one-off song for some other purpose, even just Jonny jamming and recording something for himself that he came up with. They are musicians, the hiatus doesn't mean they aren't touching their instruments in the next 3 years.
  18. At 2:16 it sounds to my ears like he says "in the Mylo Xyloto" :D
  19. Today I'm grateful for the AHFOD Tour. Earlier today I was very depressed about a number of things and couldn't focus on the work I had to do. Then I watched some Coldplay videos on Youtube, among them parts of concerts I went to (Fix You, VLV, AOAL, IMP, DP, Trouble in Paris) and it immediately made me feel better
  20. Oh sorry ! I missed that notification. Correct, your turn !
  21. So the correct answer was already in the very first guess and you didn't tell me ! :imp: I was there on that day, by the way. It was the first time I ever saw Coldplay live.
  22. Haha, now it gets really confusing :D I immediately thought of March 14, and my first thought related to that was the Today Show appearance in 2016, although I did google other March 14 appearances as well (such as Sound Relief 2009, where LiT would be their least well known song in the setlist. But I just checked and unlike Today, this one is in the CP timeline.) At the Today Show, they played Yellow, AOAL, HFTW, ASFOS, Up&Up and Clocks in the actual concert and those songs + Til Kingdom Come in the soundcheck. I simply presumed with Yellow and Clocks being long-time iconic Coldplay singles, ASFOS being a song that caters to the modern chart pop crowd and AOAL and HFTW being much-hyped lead singles of the new album, Up&Up (which was not released as a single at that point) would be the one with the least Spotify plays, that or TKC if you included songs from the soundcheck. Is this the right concert but the wrong song ? Or am I totally off now ?
  23. What ? This is much too big to be a nasal spray. I'd think either colour or something for housework.
  24. What is this, a spraycan ?
  25. That I already have, and the songs I mentioned were from concerts that happened on this particular date. I can only find more concert on that date in 1998. Such A Rush ?
