  1. You know, there are some chili peppers, so hot that just nothing helps to cool it down - it will basically be the same with our reaction if Coldplay doesn't give us anything at the festival. :laugh3:
  2. It's always interesting to pick up some music suggestions here. Which Athlete songs can you recommend?
  3. Well, there goes another Monday that could have been a memorable one in Coldplay's timeline. However, the chances of finally getting to hear at least one new song (I rather expect a medley of two or three new songs) at iHeart Radio festival are high as never before. Only four days to go, guys! And then, HOPEFULLY, our wait will pay off.
  4. The anticipation intensifies again! Hoping for the band to stay true to their release-routine and looking forward to the updates on Twitter!
  5. What do you guys think about those two? The motif I have chosen is rather different from the ones I've already seen in this thread (abstract artworks or something related to "head, brain and thinking"). I don't even know why I chose that picture (http://s6.favim.com/orig/65/dream-colours-cool-digital-art-Favim.com-582559.jpg), I guess because it has that sort of dreamy and surreal feeling in it - another thought that has come to my mind: the tree could symbolize a human's life or generally the process of becoming older and wiser. Anyway, please let me know what you think about my covers! Links: http://i.imgur.com/W7wZbCd.png http://i.imgur.com/Hw1VjXF.png EDIT: Sorry for the poor quality of the uploaded images!
  6. People still fall for it, because a strong feeling of hope seemingly doesn't need a seed (like tweets by Coldplay) that makes it grow - hope is the seed itself.
  7. Of course songs are rated by certain parameters like the structure and the complexity, but this is rather a thing a skilled and renowned music expert would do who, for example, features on a weekly magazine or whatever. The way I see it, a song doesn't find the core of its message in the headphones of such an expert who later "transforms" its quality into points or stars, but in the ears and minds of people that like it. In all objectivity, a song can't be good or bad because there is no clear "measurement" for that. Everybody that listens to a song seeks for different values, and where one thinks a chord absolutely doesn't fit somebody else might get an eargasm from that chord; where one doesn't get anything out of a line, that line might just be the one that makes the verse "perfect" for someone else. So, not one single opinion can make a song better or worse for everybody, and therefore also not for you. And, if you take this thought one step further, in fact there is no song that you could call "the worst" for all us fans and listeners, because for every song there is certainly at least one person that likes it and also one person that doesn't. What I mean is, a song can't be the "worst" for all of us, but definitely for SOMEone. Don't get me wrong, I'm totally with you in the criticism of the thread's misleading title, but it seemed as if you would like to say that disliking a song as a fan is meaningless (as it "doesn't take away the credit" anyway) and inacceptable (as you "oppose the entire thread")- which isn't true (in my opinion).
  8. Still 3 hours to go for our desired Monday-release (London time), but my hope already began fading away slowly after nothing happened around 5pm, to be honest. Most likely, we'll have to admit to ourselves that we all took a delusive rumour for granted and got disappointed in the end. If that's the case, then I can still say: To share all the anticipation, tension and hope with you guys was a great feeling! And: The chances of finally getting to enjoy the first pieces of AHFOD in the next weeks (maybe even this Friday) are still unimpaired - even more than that, considering that the mixing process is in full swing right now according to Rik Simpson's message.
  9. So, if we really set our rumoured release time at around 5pm (in London), that means we still have 5 hours to go. However, the band has kept really quiet about a new song or AHFOD - too quiet in my opinion. But: I'm still very new in the Coldplay-scene so maybe the band is known for this quiet build-up before a release. What experiences have you made with Coldplay releases and the weeks and days leading up to them?
  10. Do you guys know anything about a rumoured concert taking place anywhere near Vienna, or basically anywhere in Austria?
  11. Right now, I'd go for "The Scientist" or "Fix You" - must be unbelievable to jump and sing with the crowd to one of these songs at a Coldplay concert!
  12. Oh man, I really hope for that to be true - would be great to get to enjoy the first arrangement of AHFOD, hopefully something that already gives us a hint about the tone of the new album.
  13. I for one can only hope for Coldplay coming to Vienna or Southern Germany. However, Vienna might turn out to be an obstacle as Coldplay haven't given a concert there for years. Actually, I think Vienna was part of one of their tours for just once, but that was before I really noticed them. Anyway, Vienna as one of the tour cities would be great!
  14. Really blessed by your positive feedback! I really hope that Coldplay will release such a song one day, maybe as a final conclusion or something - although I wish for them to accompany us in the upcoming decades as well, of course!
  15. After Ghost Stories hit a rather sad tone, I also think that LP7 will now be a nice contrast to their latest album. That means I also expect a funky, feel-good Pop mix and still some elements of Alternative Rock, everything with decent usage of synthesizers in combination with uplifting, fresh beats and - you know, as beastwars put it - a lot of "Ooooooooh"-fillings with the EDM-like, simple melody in the foreground. The title "A Head full of Dreams" gives a slight hint at what we may expect from the topic of LP7: Songs about defeating mental or emotional downs and never giving up on one's dreams, living your own life, seizing the day and so on. I would really like a song with lyrics told from the perspective of an older person that looks back on his/her life and comes to a positive summary, maybe even as a project for the bandmembers themselves (so that they tell about their life and what they expect it to be, imagining their "older" selves as the songwriters).
