I have the Viva promo LP, and it is very nice. Yes not many were pressed, and even then they weren't ready in time to send out, so they were never used. The copies that exist were mostly donated to Oxfam and auctioned through them.

Actually, it's not a promo CD. It's a card sleeve CD that was included with the US Capitol vinyl LP album release! But yes, it looks similar to the Parlophone promo LP.

Well I'm afraid I don't have it, but I just wanted to say that the regular non-boxset release I have is fine. I seem to remember some other complaints on Amazon UK about the manufacturing of this boxset though.

Which is the blue room/shiver pack? I don't remember seeing that one!

I remember you saying. I think what you should do in that case is keep the acetate, along with all your other CP vinyl. Think about selling your CDs if you're ready, but you'll kick yourself if you let something go that you really want. Oh, and let me know if you're getting rid of any CDs :)

It is, but I honestly think it will improve eventually. Economy and all that :)

I don't know, you might get a better price. Where are you selling it?

LP6
I really don't think that the next album will have such a major 'theme' as the last two. I think it will be somewhat back to basics.

Anyone have any idea how many of these are being put out?

How many offical cd's of Coldplay do you have?
Surprisingly few of those around. I love the artwork, shiny inner sleeve, and B-side 'The Goldrush'. Great release!

What your favourite music video for era's?
Man the Viva videos were all brilliant.

Mylo Xyloto - 16 months on
I definitely agree with everything you've written here. The album was overproduced, and overcompressed (google 'loudness wars'). Additionally there is now too much backing track use when playing live. They are still one of the best bands out there, but the next album needs to feel a lot more natural than the sugary, hyper, overly colourful MX era. It's possible to try too hard. Plus, it's time to drop Brian Eno. BTW you misspelled 'quiet' twice ;)

What have you spent on Coldplay?
Again probably a lot but I'd rather not know. Hundreds of pounds certainly!

5 common criticisms of Coldplay (and why they're wrong)
Apologies if I have missed something here Reilly - I'm a little confused, so perhaps you could help. What kind of person has the time to make 35,576 posts on the forum of a band that they disklike so?

Coldplay's Clocks crowned no.1 on BBC Radio 6 Music's countdown
Unfortunately the people who consider themselves avant-garde in the music they listen to (even though it only tends to be Oasis, the Kaiser Chiefs, or the Arctic Monkeys) have always been ridiculously abusive to Coldplay, and it's simply because Coldplay lack any of the bullshit bravado that they adore in their music heroes. That, and they're popular. I thought 6 Music listeners might be above that, but I guess not. 6 Music ran a poll to find the most popular nominated song: Of course the top 10 are going to all be popular songs... it's a VOTE. The most popular choice wins, and Clocks is a great song.

Thanks! It does indeed look really nicely packaged.

You might be right, Dave took over in 2001 at some point.
