  1. I don't like SOS very much. But it's not rubbish by any mean, just not up to my expectations on one of the best bands in the world. You can go and listen to that Bloc Party/Kaiser Chiefs/Bravery etc... subproducts if you want to know what rubbish really is.
  2. I think is a great album, much better than Heathen Chemistry and finally up to the old days. You can expect the new songs to mean the same as the old stuff to you, expecially if you're not a fan yet. But it's musically very good.
  3. I don't like the mood, but i agree with most of it. SOS is a weak song, like it or not. 3.5 over 5 is even too good in my book. Hope the album to improve this radically.

fFirst class band, but Elbow is much superior.
  5. Pretty average. Quite high hopes on the album thou.
  6. Not being a huge Oasis fan for 8 years from now, Be here Now was pretty awful and so on... But the leaked tracks and the little fragments out of the nme shows this is going to be a totally different thing. I was simply stunned by "The Importance Of Being Idle". I could never imagine Noel Gallagher doing such a great song, it's even better than the old stuff. Le There Be Love & Keep the Dream are quite predictable, but indeed good tunes. There's not much music nowdays at this high standars if you know what i mean. I got special interest in Mucky fingers, not sounding a bit like Oasis, but like the velvet underground with really un-oasis lyrics too. Bet NME to trash it for the evidence of plagiarism, but i enjoy the elder brother voice in this one. And Liam Moonckyman's 'Love is a Bomb' is not bad too, brings me back the best Beatles w/o the boredom of previous efforts, it's fresher and quite good. What happen to the Gallaghers, did they take vitamins or what?
  7. They cover 'lyla', that is an awful song in my book. Anyway Chris always showed great respect for Noel Gallagher, but risk his neck is simply ridiculous. All and all, that stupid fake war between coldplay vs oasis promoted by the media is starting to end before even start. Luckily.
  8. i've heard the single and 5 tracks more. Half of the album. Maybe not enough to make a judgement but i'm not judging it yet. If you read carefully my post, i emphasize that my opinion is bases in a feeling about the progression from the last album to the known songs. I got no opinion in X&Y 'cause i can't -i haven't listen to it. (I suppose you have, since you have made your opinion perfectly clear yet 'this album will be the greatest'). All i know is that i dont like where coldplay is going, and better i don't like where they are not going. I'm not saying they are going to flop, just i agree they seems like they have totally lost it.
  9. He (the reviewer) listen to the tracks, he describes and so on, but at the end of the read i got the feeling that he's trying to say a fast something to make the fans happy. No conclusion obtained, not really a critic but a simple reprise. I don't have a clue about what's really thinking about the album. I'm not sure about this thing. :/
  10. Totally agree. Judging by the leaked live tracks and the studio version of the single, the new material is even more souless than AROBTTH. They are much better performers now, but the lack of life and freshness is stunning. Experimentation is not always equal to progression, sometimes is just a way to overcome the lack of ideas. IMHO they should have go for more variated sources to inspire their music and stop worring so much about getting improved skills on the use of the instrumewnts and the electronic. Its like they can't get the deal right to get to the basics naturally. Alas, the key songs starts to fade like a pale reflection of the previous ones. Sometimes, somehow, over the last 3 years, i got the annoying feeling that they are pretending to be something, just for the sake of being a "worldwide phenomenon" but with the likes of their hearts not being in it. My hope is not lost yet, since a band that made such a big album as Parachutes should be back sometime, but not yet according to the signals on X&Y. Fingers crossed on the unleaked tracks, thou.

  12. It does not sound a bit like clocks. But it's not up to Coldplay, it's just TOO average. I really want something better from a band with such potential. Hope the new stuff (not previewed) to be really outstanding, since all i hear to date it's not good in my book.
  13. I'm truly disappointed. After a lot of listens to the live version and 24 hours with the studio leak... Boring. Predictable. It does not grows on me a bit. Pretty average for Coldplay standard. even plagiated the piano and chorus from 'Running Up That Hill' from Kate Bush. IMHO quite worse than 'In My Place' and miles away from Parachutes. This men has definitely lost it... :/ I'm sure is an ok single if all that matters are sales and charts.
