  1. I'd really rather Chris didn't release a solo pop/rnb album. And I think there's no chance of that happening. I have faith the band will refocus for their next album and come out with something unique. They are taking some much needed time and Dave Holmes said they will work to come back with something really special.
  2. Totally agree, I was more just mesmerized by it haha. Although, I found it disappointing that Chris lip synced Clocks the entire tour. It didn't have the same feeling to it. Nothing will top Toronto 2006 Clocks, for me.
  3. Clocks It was the first song I remember of Coldplay. I have loved Clocks since before I became a mega Coldplay fan. I've listened to it hundreds of times, and still it remains my favorite song ever, beyond Coldplay. The emotion behind the song is unbelievable, and even still I am amazed how such a simple riff can be so powerful. The studio version brings a huge sense of nostalgia to me, and live version is a completely different song, IMO. Listening to Clocks live is an insane experience. I could go on and on about the emotions I feel listening to the song, but I'll just leave it at this- I have never connected with a song more than Clocks, and it is the best song I've ever heard in my life.
  4. I believe you are referring to a cover song of The Scientist, not released by Coldplay.
  5. Ahhh very sneaky. Was obviously thinking of the word Low not the letters. (Yellow @Gsilva ) Alright I'll be back with one.
  6. Low? Although I don't know another song with the word low in the title
  7. This has to be something bigger than just the AHFOD live album. It simply doesn't take this long for something like this to happen. You never know with this band, but between the sheer amount of time it has taken, and Chris saying this is basically "the end of an era/series/chapter", maybe it's a documentary of something greater than just this tour.
  8. I picked this name (after being A Guy Full of Stars) because it apparently was rumored to be the original title of X&Y. I'm not quite sure what it means, but there's a movie that came out recently called The Zero Theorem that explores the meaning of life, and the theory is that life is meaningless. I don't know really, I just found it to be a cool name. It would've been interesting if they named X&Y this instead. I study Statistics (I know, bleh). I'd obviously like to do something much more interesting but I feel as though that will at least get my foot in the job market. My dream is to do something with sports (or obviously be a Coldplay roadie!!). I wouldn't say I'm a great writer haha. But that would be a fun career. EDIT: I actually don't know if there's any substance to the X&Y/Zero Theory "theory", but I read it somewhere for sure.
  9. Just wanted to say this is a great community, and I hope Coldplaying lives on the rest of my life haha. I should be focusing on school but I find myself refreshing this site and another basketball message board I'm on every hour.
  10. I feel you 100%! I play piano, and I literally was going to comment about how much I want to learn the ending to the Toronto version Swallowed in the Sea and the Madrid X&Y until I saw you posted both of those videos. The MX era piano version of Warning Sign is just sublime too. I'll play the versions from the Coldplay music books, and they are great, but they just don't nearly capture everything Chris does on the piano live. This is a great project idea if we can compile how to do all of Chris' cool live versions of these songs. This summer after school ends I'd love to try to figure some out.
  11. Here's a quote I found "My eye-opening years were between 13 and 17. I was so cushioned until that. But at Sherborne, (British public school) it was the first time I'd ever experienced somebody disliking me."Well, I used to walk funny, and, to be quite honest, I was a bit of a knobhead - I wouldn't have liked me either." He also has hinted that he didn't have much of a romantic/sex life until his mid-twenties or something.
  12. Yeah I think he was. He's mentioned how he was picked in for being more into music than sports. He's such a f*king genius that I'm not surprised he was seen as a bit different in school.
  13. It was insane! Although I lost my Love button the other day from it so I'm sad.
  14. Hurts Like Heaven This is impossible. 3 best songs on the album for sure
  15. I saw them once, this past summer in Massachusetts. I can't even describe the feeling when the lights went down, 60,0000 xylobands turned on, "a wonderful adventure, a wonderful adventure" echoing in the background and Will started drumming the intro to AHFOD. It was all worth it just for that moment. And then especially when Yellow kicked on and people were smoking pot near us lol, it was a magical experience. And it was just surreal to watch them perform Clocks, Fix You, VLV- songs that have been part of me since my childhood. I'd love to join you next time they come to Portugal haha
  16. Then it will just be even more magical when you do eventually see them ;)
  17. There I voted for both now. Yeah, I wasn't a fan of that name anymore haha. Although come to think of it idk which one I like better.
  18. So I'm not usually a fan of covers of Coldplay songs. I'd say about 95% of covers don't capture the emotion in Chris' voice. This is a really unique cover and I completely wouldn't expect it to work, but it works. I love it. If you haven't seen this, check it out.
  19. Wow can't believe it's been 5 months since this live album came out. Crazy, time flies. Wonder what their next move is?
  20. I hate it when Chris Martin says there's a live album coming in November and here I am, on April 8.
  21. Excellent cover
  22. Fly On I've said it before, I'll say it again. The single most beautiful piece of music they've ever written.
  23. By The Way-RHCP 8/10 approx. This is a criminally underrated album by RHCP. People talk about Californication and Stadium Arcadium but this album is right up there with them (maybe even better than Stadium Arc. imo).
  24. Totally agree. For some reason I only like to listen to Ghost Stories in my car when it's raining/snowing outside. It kinda makes it more special. The mood just doesn't work for me on a sunny day. It's magical driving down the road, listening to GS when it's snowing outside.
