I'm thinking one of the advantages of using the cartridges was to reduce loading times compared to using CDs. They were about £60 here when new :o

Yeah, because there are some classic games on the Nintendo platforms - Zelda, mario kart, star fox etc. I would just say: don't write off the Wii just yet :wink2:

I think you'll find the N64 had what was called a Z button i.e trigger. A joystick + a pad = analouge controller . The point about the analouge controller is that no one else came up with it. I'm not denying this. The GC sales were poor compared to Sony and microsoft in all places bar Japan. This i would have agreed with maybe half a year ago but (surprisingly), quite a few people i have spoken to seem to be waiting for the Wii and not going for 360 or the idea of a ps3. If he did indeed say this, then i must agree that this is a silly thing to say..

Nintendo have had most of the recent controller revolutions to my knowledge. Lets see... they brought us 4 buttons (as opposed to 2) on the SNES pad, which incidently also brought us shoulder buttons. Trigger buttons, the rumble pak and the analouge stick with the N64. This just might work out for them.
