Didn't he just say there would be no world tour until they figured out how to make it sustainable?

Does anyone know why they fired Ken Nelson? I feel like he deserves more credit for their amazing early sound. Not to mention poor Danton Supple gets completely overshadowed in their legacy by Brian Eno and the band's general dislike of the album he produced. In my opinion, X&Y is their best album but I hadn't even heard of him until recently.

Thank you so much for sharing @I ran away and [uSER=100956]@Stephen[/uSER] . I could've never gone to a gig like that in a million years as a broke college student in America with few Coldplay connections, and it's so amazing to be able to get a firsthand account and video of it.

Although I'm sad they aren't playing much this era, this just makes me glad that I did see them twice during the AFHOD tour. Over the past few years I've become increasingly worried about the environment myself, and I can understand their reasons for not touring. Although I always used to wish I saw them before AHFOD, I think it was an amazing point in terms of the spectacular scale of the tour that they might not reach again for a long time or even ever for good reasons. And I'm not sure how I feel about the acoustic version of Fix You either...it's definitely a song that works better as a big dramatic moment with Chris lying down at the beginning and then running back to the A stage and the whole band singing at the end. Fix You isn't my all time favorite Coldplay song now, but it live was a big part of the reason I was so blown away the first time I saw them and I became such a big fan.

Maybe listen to some of their inspirations for each specific album? And Guy said they were really inspired by Mercury Rev's album Deserter's Songs as the band formed so I feel like it's an interesting listen to symbolize their first times together.

Is it just me or does every single person that's too "cool" to like Coldplay without totally hating them have a soft spot for Shiver

Some of these were really hard (I'm not really a fan of The Escapist or EL, and on the other hand I felt bad choosing something over Arabesque but Yes is literally one of my favorite Coldplay songs)

I loved Chris and Jonny sitting together and playing Old Friends...except it had to have been pre recorded
