  1. I think in 25 years, Coldplay will finally be getting the respect they deserve from critics and music lovers alike.
  2. the monkey returned at the end of their performance of 42 on the Today Show as well! It was beautiful.
  3. HAHAHAHAHHA!! I completely forgot about this video!!! I love it. I don't know why people are taking it so seriously?
  4. a Rush of Blood to the Head is pure classic...pretty much unbeatable. VLVODAAHF is amazing, but nostalgic value and pure genius tips the scale to AROBTTH's favor.
  5. (I posted this in the Live section too, but I figured some people might not check there, so...here is my post..again...for everyone's viewing pleasure!!) http://www.facebook.com/album.php?ai...12&id=68103042 I just posted all my pics on facebook!! I didn't have a GREAT camera, but some of them are pretty sexy. They get really blurry near the end...but it's impossible for the band (or me for that matter) to stand still during this amazing music. ALSO, I posted all the videos I took on my facebook as well. Hopefully you can access them. If not, feel free to add me as a friend! The videos include: -'Clocks' warm up. -'Yellow' acoustic warm up. -'In My Place' including Chris bringing the boy with the broken arm on stage, the boys noticing the 'We Will Be on a Strawberry Swing' poster, and Chris sticking out his tongue at the paparazzi. -'Viva La Vida' minus the very beginning when Chris messes up...but you can see that on the Today Show's website! -'Lost!' unfortunately this is just the first half...I'm still kicking myself for not at least getting Jonny's solo

  7. Overwhelming love of Coldplay led them to do drastic things.
  8. this was by far one of the greatest moments of my life. What a great way to see Coldplay LIVE for the first time!! It was tons of fun!! I met some amazing Coldplayers...Jasmyne, Coldplay Joe, JBella...it was fantastic....all the painful heat and standing around (and unnecessary footage of Boy George) was completely worth it!! THANK YOU SO MUCH IAN!! I LOVE YOU!!! Hopefully I'll be able to see everyone again sooner rather than later!
  9. This may be the best picture ever!!!! I have yet to figure out what to wear...I'm sure it'll just be a Beatles shirt and torn up jeans (I don't have a Coldplay shirt :( ). I'll be with my best friend Dewey Dewizzle 'the Wiz' who will be MUCH more noticeable than I am. We're taking the bus from Chinatown in D.C. to N.Y. tonight at 11:45 p.m. We should get up there around 4 a.m. From there, we'll just head over to the meeting place! I'd post a pic but I'm a bit confused as to how to do so......um...uh......yeah!
  10. this is fantastic!!! Well done everybody! I wish I had been paying attention! EDIT: p.s. your singing is lovely! Don't be so modest ;)
  11. AHHH!! I'm sorry my response was so late!! I was at work all day and I JUST got back around 8 p.m. U.S. Eastern time.... This is by far the highlight of my day....week...life... Thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to see the band live!!! I really appreciate it! I hope to see the other lucky winners there! EDIT: and thank you to all the mods who had to go through all of our 'essays' and read them!! I'm quite flattered that I got picked. THANK YOU!!
  12. There's no doubt, U2 is an amazing band. However...their most recent album was a little bit of a slump in my opinion. I hope they do well, of course, but I know where my allegiance lies ;)
  13. I read the lyrics for the Scientist on a website before I heard the song, but I was in love at that point. What really confirmed this was when I heard Clocks on the radio and realized it was them. Not too much later, I finally heard the Scientist. It was A Rush of Blood to the Head's one-two punch that won me over. I got the album not too long after that and I was hooked.
  14. I love Chinese Sleep Chant and the Escapist, but Reign of Love is probably my least favorite. However...I kind of see it as an intermission. It's definitely nice to have a quiet piano song on the album when it's full of such new sounds.
  15. haha, the reviewer misstates that 42 is Cemeteries of London (his description of Cemeteries of London is actually describing 42). Other than that little misstep, I completely agree with his review.
  16. ahhhh I am working on getting to this concert!! I have never seen them live, but I have no money at the moment!!! I really hope this changes before the tickets sell out!!
  17. ahhh I was about to post that VLVODAAHF has reached the number 1 spot on ITunes but you beat me to it :P
  18. Better than both Parachutes and X&Y (each 72), but not as good as a Rush of Blood to the Head (80). Still, it's nice to see that, in the end, the majority of the reviews have actually been very positive. Plus, they don't have a lot of the incredibly positive reviews we've seen from Q Magazine and People or even the Herald Sun.
  19. This guy is an idiot. I remember hearing that they got rid of one of their members because he liked the Beatles. P.S. I agree...the Police ARE awesome ;)
  20. I heard his new album in a car with my friends about a week ago. We were in stitches. I took the whole thing as a joke, because there was no way such ridiculous 'rapping' could be considered to be good. Apparently the critics think otherwise...and I'm sure this is one of the signs of the apocalypse. EDIT: Also, this is an unbiased opinion from someone who USUALLY enjoys listening to hip hop/rap....I was not out to hate Lil' Wayne from the start.
  21. Let's face it...Coldplay ARE plagiarists! ....but then again, that means every band that has come since the Beatles, Bob Dylan, Zeppelin, The Who, etc. are plagiarists too (yes, even the brilliant Radiohead gets its inspiration from somewhere). Chris is just more honest about the fact that Coldplay get a lot of their influences from other bands. This is not plagiarism. Every band does this. It's actually a bit refreshing for Chris and co. to be honest about it when every other band tries to put on a 'we're the shit' front when other bands have done what they've done a MILLION times better.
  22. it's sad when a member of a classic band has to insult the most popular band of this day and age JUST to get some recognition. Isn't this guy supposed to be famous? Aren't there WORSE bands out there he could be insulting? I guess not...at least, if you want to get some publicity.
  23. agreed! A fantastic read. It actually offers some of the best advice i've yet read in any of these reviews: forget you're listening to Coldplay and embrace it as a true work of epic originality. Too many critics are holding back on praise simply because the band is Coldplay, and it's unfair to the band. They've worked hard to produce something new and exciting and they've succeeded.
  24. haha the mention of Batman made me respect her from the start. Even though she only gave it 3/5, her final remarks were incredibly positive, so I can live with the rating.
  25. yaaaaay!! Entertainment Weekly was definitely one of the reviews I looked forward to. This is really good news!!! Thanks for the find!! P.S. http://www.ew.com/ew/article/0,,20206310,00.html that is the album review...there's a link on the first page of the Q&A. It's a good read as well!
