  1. Chinese Sleep Chant is probably my favorite as well....it's so upbeat and unlike anything they've done before. I LOVE IT!!
  2. surprisingly your favorite?? There's nothing surprising about that! The song is beyond amazing!
  3. You know...I'm thinking of doing the same exact thing! I will miss it dearly for a couple weeks, but I think it's necessary. I don't know for sure yet........but...IT'S SO BEAUTIFUL!!
  4. you guys have more willpower than I ever will. Keep fighting the good fight. As someone who has listened to it, I can say that it will be completely worth the wait.
  5. Well said!!! I give Coldplay my full support, because they have given me the best music!! I'll be picking up a copy bright and early on the 17th!

  7. Could someone PM me Lost! and Death and all his friends in MP3 format?? They're the only ones I'm missing! Your grand prize will be my unwavering respect!!
  8. Couldn't agree more! I'm keeping my fingers crossed for everybody!!!
  9. oh awesome! Thanks for this calendar! I know it'll definitely come in handy!!!
  10. An Ending (Ascent) is fantastic. I don't know if anybody here listens to the Talking Heads, but the 3 albums that Eno produced are widely considered to be their best (More Songs About Buildings and Food, Fear of Music, Remain in Light). Personally, Remain in Light is one of my favorite albums of all time, and I highly recommend it to anyone who's interested in hearing something....VERY different.
  11. I wouldn't believe this review at all.....notice that the critic only reviews songs that have been released or leaked. Where's the comments on 42 or any of the other songs for that matter? He mentions Strawberry Swing once, but that's about it. I'm not sure how credible this source is.
  12. YESS!! I can finally feel like I'm accomplishing something by mastering 'Violet Hill' on Guitar Hero!!!!
  13. I don't know about ALL Coldplay...but I'm definitely staying away from listening to any of the new material until the release!! I'M WITH YOU ALL THE WAAAAY!!
  14. I almost think that NME is being more cautious with this new review. They probably got a lot of flack for praising X&Y so highly. Also, they apparently change their opinions 2-3 weeks later based on whatever everyone else thinks. I think the 8/10 is them trying to be more 'credible' as a critical source. After all, the first review for Coldplay's new album was bashed by another magazine for its incredibly high praise. Critics are going to give Coldplay a tough time by trying to ONLY see the flaws (Something Coldplay's critics have been all too keen to point out). However, in the end, I think we'll see a lot of them admitting that the new album really is something worthwhile, and a step in the right direction for the band.
  15. Violet Hill is my number one played song by them. This is because I haven't had ITunes for very long and there has been a lack of Coldplay in my life until recently. When I first got ITunes, I was starting to listen to a lot of new music. I've especially been listening to a lot more classic rock lately (Beatles, Bob Dylan, Zeppelin, Rolling Stones, etc.). 2nd is Viva la Vida...but I'm attempting to avoid listening to them until the album is released!! ....we'll see how long that lasts, haha. Anyway...top played is a 3 way tie... 1. I Should Have Known Better- The Beatles 2. D.A.N.C.E.- Justice 3. Lullaby- Loudon Wainwright III All tied with 18 listens.....like I said...I haven't had Itunes for THAT long...
  16. I completely agree!! It's one of their very best! Personally, I voted for Yellow. I mean, even though it was the first song I heard by them, it never really stood out until I had already become a fan (thanks to AROBTTH). Plus, it's QUITE overplayed....that definitely takes away from the appeal a bit. But, I still love it regardless! That's just if I had to choose.
  17. looking forward to reading it!! Having these articles to read along with the video interviews makes the wait a tad bit more bearable....just a TAD bit...;)
  18. fantastic article...thanks for the post!!!
  19. ahhh thank you so much for the video find!! It sounds just amazing...I CAN'T WAIT ANY LONGER!!!!! *leaps out window* .... *knock on door* Sorry, guys, could you let me back in?
  20. focus your thoughts on the fact that we have the full video interview with Triple M coming June 6! Plus, there is always the chance that the album will be leaked around this time. Keep your fingers crossed! We may be hearing the album sooner than you think!
  21. fantastic review!! Thanks for taking the time to fill us all in!! This is really encouraging and I can't wait to hear it myself!
  22. so far all I know is that the two songs I've heard (Viva La Vida and Violet Hill) show TONS of growth as a band. X&Y wasn't bad, but, the two songs I've heard on Viva La Vida blow it out of the water in terms of lyrics and creativity. Plus, the fact that my friends who usually hate Coldplay have really enjoyed the new songs means that they're doing SOMETHING different. The fact that this magazine gave X&Y a higher rating does not give me a lot of confidence in this review....gaaaaaah June can't come soon enough!!
  23. awesome article! Thanks for typing it all up!!
  24. Shawndorman replied to Pseudonym's topic in 42
hahaha exactly! I didn't mean to come off as so aggressive, but that's really all I'm saying. In my personal opinion, Coldplay are about as similar to Radiohead as Radiohead is to the Talking Heads (the band from which they got their name). I guess the constant Radiohead comparisons get on my nerves....I love them to death, but I've never seen the similarities other than the Britishness. However, with that said, I kind of see what everyone is saying with the whole 'Kid A/Amnesiac' thing, but once again....as Saffire said...don't give Radiohead more credit than they deserve. They're not the first ones to do it.

it's not like Queen and Radiohead are the only bands to have done this kind of thing. The Beatles had 'A Day in the Life'...Led Zeppelin had 'Stairway to Heaven'...the Who had 'A Quick One While He's Away'....the list goes on! Just because Coldplay is exploring that same 'three act structure' with 42 doesn't mean they're simply copying Paranoid Android. Radiohead has their influences too. In the same way that each of these songs is unique from the other, I don't think we should expect '42' to be like any of those songs. Coldplay has always had its own sound, and I'm excited to see what '42' sounds like.
