Glasgow Bellahouston
I imagine that U2, REM and Coldplay will be on early in London, they all have gigs that night. Given the size of the bill for Live8, I'd say that they will all do just a few songs. I expect Friday in Glasgow to be pretty exciting, the band should be buzzing ahead of Live8.

The Razorlight & I Am Arrows thread
You're quite a nasty wee bugger aren't you, Socrates? In contrast to both the philosopher and the footballer. You should be nice when you fly that flag, you'll let the side down. We like Razorlight, and it's a great pic About a Girl, excuse my compatriot.

You people listen to a lot of very tedious music.
I'm listening to the Ramones... Tell me I'm cool :smug:

Martin O'Neill Resigns as Celtic Manager
Martin O'Neill was a good manager, it's a shame that they didn't win the league. I'm no great fan of Celtic, but I have great respect for O'Neill... and he was a Gaelic footballer Ibelieve...

V: The Second Generation
Is this the show where the aliens were lizards dressed up as people and ate mice out of bins and flew around in giant saucers and had a leader called Diana who was kind of a bitchy lizard? They all died at the end...

U2
Yes....see i was in reverse...I heard of Coldplay, then heard What's Going On with Chris and Bono, then I downloaded SBS and Beautiful Day...and i knew some older songs, but U2 I really found them from the stupid IPOD commercial. That commercial was shocking! I can't belive it won them fans! If you like Coldplay then you should really listen to the Unforgettable Fire from 1984, it's a beautiful, slightly out-of-focus album.

Is it wrong to prefer Embrace's version? I think that Chris's version is too sad! If I was at that gig I'd have gone home in floods!

Christmas tunes...
I was thinking of posting the Christmas tunes... perhaps I should wait a few months! I don't want to get sued, but I notice that you can no longer buy 2000 Miles and that Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas is very rare. Please advise! I know some boards are dodgy about official stuff. *** Sod ye then I won't bother! ***

Hullo- like yer bling!
I queued all night in Limerick & got nothing but a sore jaw courtesy of a local... Eventually got tickets through the U2 fanclub. Coldplay were amazing and so were the Chillis, but U2 blew me away. It was a great day. Off to Croke Park in a fortnight's time too!

U2
U2 are my #1. Off to see them at Croke Park, back on the ould sod in a few weeks. The first time I heard a note of Coldplay's music was when I was in the queue for the toilet at Slane and they were playing support. 'Everyting's Not Lost' was amazing. I've seen U2 dozens of times & whereas I think that comparisons are unfair at this stage, Coldplay have a long way to go yet! There are a lot of Eno/ Unforgettable Fire signatures on the new album. Would love to hear Coldplay cover A Sort of Homecoming. Apparently it was played to the fruity baby in utero :)

Glasgow Bellahouston
Did anyone get their tickets in the post yet? Looking forward to this one. Not quite sure what to do if we get tickets for Live8, sleep in the car after the gig and then head south I suppose...

Talk (does anybody know the song of Kraftwerk...)
I think Kraftwerk are having a bit of revival. U2 have done Neon Lights also. I always would have said that U2 and Coldplay were a million miles from Kraftwerk!

See You Soon - appreciation
It could be my favourite tune...

Hullo- like yer bling!
Hullo from Scotland. We like your bling, it's very bling. Big Coldplay fans in our house... been to Slane (albeit for another band with Eno-esque effects on their records...), V, Wembley and Earl's Court and off to Glasgow July 1st (the Eve of the Big One). We own the dodgy Royksopp remixes!!
