Fopp closes down its 105 stores
Always a good thing to support these small independent shops like Tesco I think lol

Fopp closes down its 105 stores
I bought a Sony Walkman that uses a thing called an Atrac file or something and Sonicstage. For every tune you want to load up you could go away, have a cup of tea and a bun and a wee rest and come back and it still wouldn't finished! £100 it cost and the £9.99 job from Tesco's is better lol

School bans pupils from hugging!!
Proper order, hugging is the first step on the road to anarchy! Whatever next...

Car crashes into airport building
I teach at a High School up here & today is the first day of the school holidays. Worried how close to home this is. The coldblooded cynicism and disregard for human life of these people is astonishing. Just as well that they're shite at being terrorists! Fair play to the folks at the airport for nabbing them. I was in that Arrivals hall last Sunday morning... staggering.

Pearl Jam
Always respect Pearl Jam for the regard in which they hold their fans. I am Mine is one of my favourite rock records of all time and their approach to bootlegging is fantastic. More bands should take their cues from these guys.

Fopp closes down its 105 stores
Really gutted, not least because I still have vouchers for the place! Often stop into the store in Glasgow and the staff were cool, feel really sorry for them, they were always helpful when looking for awkward stuff. I blame the industry though, charging £13.99 and more for CDs and DVDs that cost pence to make, £4.99 for a poxy CD single. Then when the opportunity arose to sell tunes online they invent dozens of different file types and programs and players to confuse the hell out of everyone. 79p for an iTune is crazy, especially when you want an album's worth and especially when then you can only use them on Apple hardware. Saddened by the loss of Fopp, but not surprised really.

Prince anyone?????
If Prince was down the end of the garden I'd shut the curtains... Feel sorry for the records store Fopp though, that was always a great place to while away a few hours.

The R.E.M. Thread
We saw them at Loch Lomond in the summer and they were great, I'd seen them at Slane and Lansdowne Road previously. The Ardgillan Castle gig sounded cool on the webcast- was it on the radio in Ireland?

Have looked it up... Turns out that Flock is officially released back on the ould sod too, so I've bought them both. They have great reviews. Has anyone got the promo remixes of Flame? Not buying them, don't have a record player... Who is Tubridy?!! He looks mad!

Flame is one of the best tunes I've heard in ages. Tipped off to it by Fanning's Fab fifty. I'll be shot for this but I'm not to keen on Eve... Sounds like Radiohead singing You'll Learb by Longface Morrissette. The rest of that album is superb though. Flock not out until March though which is an arse. Somehow the brother got a copy in Ireland and he swears by it. He's off to see them at the RDS, having not bothered to go early to their Groove Armada support slot. Hoping to see them in Glasgow. What was the first album called?
