  1. More acts have been announced for the Isle of Wight Festival, which takes place from Friday 9th June until Sunday 11th June 2006 at Seaclose Park Newport, Isle of Wight. Joining the bill on the Sunday are legendary act Procol Harum, whose 'Whiter Shade Of Pale' is surely known by everyone (isn't it?). Also new for the Sunday, and opening the stage that day are Skyline Heroes, who are the winners of the high school Battle of Bands competions. And joining the Saturday line-up are Scotland's dynamic duo, The Proclaimers. They join the acts already announced:- The Prodigy, Placebo, Goldfrapp, The Rakes, and The Upper Room on the Friday, and Foo Fighters, Primal Scream, Editors, Dirty Pretty Things, The Kooks, and 747s all on the Saturday, and Coldplay, Richard Ashcroft, Lou Reed, Maximo Park, and Kubb on the Sunday. All tickets are now sold out. http://www.efestivals.co.uk/news/060316a.shtml

its brilliant news!! just a shame his albums so high up the charts in almost every country
  4. now the film ratings thing is stupid, because if trading standards catch them they're doomed!! just been doing VSC refresher training today. i do so love that training video!!
  5. think she does Las Vegas too :stunned:
  6. so, you're saying you're a whiney, complainey, bastard?

Have just found a website which lists album charts around the world, and am finding it highly interesting. http://allcharts.org/music/world/albums.htm Why is Crazy Frog higher than Coldplay in Canada? Coldplay are beating James Blunt in Belgium, hurrah!!! Obviously some of the albums have been on the chart longer than others, X&Y was released 40 weeks ago!!!, but even so its quite interesting to see which countries are buying what.
  8. i agree for the most part. Having been on the manager end though, sometimes its worth giving the customer what they want (even when its against policy) because you know they'll send a complaint to Head Office and when that happens they'll get rewarded with even more stuff than if you just let them use their expired voucher or whatever. I'd never go against the VSC stuff though. No way on earth i'm having a £5K fine, 6 months in prison, and a criminal record because some spotty 13 year-old wants a copy of "Debbie does Dallas".

not at all, but every so often (usually when I haven't had chance to use the big red button recently) I miss his annoying ways. or maybe its just coz I'm tired and have just finished a pint of very nice cider?
  10. so many very, very true things in there. particularly the people who are convinced you're lying to them or that think if they shout loudly enought they'll get what they want. Do they not notice that the nicest customers are the one who get the smiles and the extra service? The more you shout, the less service you get - simple!

dare I say it, or will it work out like beetlejuice? the most annoying person on the planet, haven't seen him for months which is maybe why I don;t remember how irritating he is, but we haven seen him for ages, it can only be one person.. ... ALBIE

  13. shouldn't that be, where's the love?
  14. cold out? you've got to be joking, its fecking freezing
  15. What???? Since when was that going on?
  16. dunno about pirate, amazon wouldn't be able to sell it if it was. unofficial maybe. there was loads of discussion about the Love Actually one before Xmas when it first appeared on amazon.com. can't remember if anybody parted with cash for it though.
  17. 2 new DVD's have appeared on amazon.co.uk. One of them is the Love Actually one which was released in the US in Jan http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000CEV3VO/qid=1142459728/sr=1-1/ref=sr_1_10_1/202-7862714-9707014 The other is one I've not seen reference to before: http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000EXZHJW/qid=1142459728/sr=1-2/ref=sr_1_10_2/202-7862714-9707014
  18. Very interesting discussion, and am quite intrigued by all sides of the argument. Wasn't a huge Coldplay fan when I joined this forum in 2002, its something that's grown on me over the last 4 years. The first couple of concerts I went to were because someone needed the company. the last few i went to are because i'd be absolutely fuming if I didn't get chance to go. The first concert in Liverpool was so amazing, I've been hooked pretty much ever since. I can kind of understand the girly threads, as I have noticed how good-looking some of the guys are!! There are such a huge quantity of the girly threads that this section of the board can feel quite daunting sometimes. As an admin, I have to pop in here and check that everything's ok but that's frequently the only reason I visit this bit of the board. Sometimes its a little confusing visiting this part of the board, one the one hand you want Coldplay to come and read the board to know what die-hard fans they've got, yet on the other you post threads which in any other place could be construed as sexual harrassment. Would you really want those threads to be the impression they got of their fans? There's no reason why you shouldn't discuss all aspects of the band but some of the threads could carry on instead of starting new ones. My impression of this bit of the board is that its for other Coldplay news. Ie its not live or album related but all the other stuff, eg when Chris bumps his car in rush hour traffic. The Lounge is there because people make friends on message boards, and there they can discuss things non-Coldplay related without impinging on Coldplay space. So not everyone is prepared to throw themselves at the feet of Coldplay, it doesn't mean they have any less right to post on this board.
  19. Another good one from the boys!!
  20. they are easy to use. the default setting is no smilies so you just have to tell the board that you want to use them, and then it'll put them with your reply box every time. simply the other way round to the old board, on that one you had to say in your profile that you didn't want smilies.
  21. they released the entire series in a boxset over here at Christmas. its £199.99, which I never have spare ever!! even if it does save me £150 And a really random question: Why is the US equivalent so much more expensive? Its usually the other way around. According to amazon.com the US boxset is $809.99 which is about £500!! The extras lists are the same so it doesn't look like you get way more extras!!
  22. Looking at the other items that the current seller has, they would appear to have access to a radio station. The rest of their auctions are promo singles as well, including Richard Ashcroft & Talk.
  23. Loved it when it first started!! :smug: Somewhere at my Mum's house I have the first 2 books which explained all sorts of stuff about the series. missed most of the later series when i started working though :\ Did see the film with Ian.
