Chrissy's Belly Pix :D
sorry, wasn't meant to be a personal dig. :embarassed: Usually, I'd merge threads, but that just shoves the issue under the carpet, and doesn't deal with it.

Chrissy's Belly Pix :D
i don't see the point in there being 2 of those either. I don't see the point in duplicating threads full stop. It makes the board difficult to navigate, and slows it down. maybe its bugging me more tonight because I've been trying to find stuff I know is there, and have ended up trawling through pages & pages in the Coldplay section where the same thing has 3 or 4 threads.

Chrissy's Belly Pix :D
Just what I'm thinking. Is there any reason these couldn't go in the "post pics of the gorgeous Chris" thread? I appreciate you like Chris, but not everyone wants to drool all over him (or Guy, Will, Jonny, Phil, #42, the Oracle, etc).

Revealed: Coldplay's role in helping Birmingham City win again
ALEX McLeish has enlisted the help of one of his favourite bands in an attempt to revive the St Andrew’s atmosphere. Coldplay’s chart-topper Viva La Vida has been designated as Blues’ new run-out tune, replacing Feel It by The Tamperer, and McLeish and club PR and marketing staff have drawn up a new playlist for the pre-match music. The UB40 classic Food For Thought is among the songs, the melody from which became a cult favourite among supporters who suddenly started to chant it at the season’s start. For a while McLeish and Blues have been wracking their brains for ways of encouraging a better mood, of togetherness and noise, around the stadium rather than the anxious negativity that has so often been the case this season. “Over the years on my travels to Germany and France and places like that I’ve always made a habit of going out and watching the pre-match entertainment,” said McLeish. “Dutch teams, Belgian teams have been very influential on the crowd, getting them going, and in Germany the other week I heard the [Coldplay] song and thought ‘that sounds fantastic, if I was in the crowd I’d love that’. The crowd interacted with it. “I thought, after speaking with our team at St Andrew’s, that there were a couple of songs we could introduce and they are trying to think about other things to motivate our support.” “But,” McLeish conceded, “there’s nothing that motivates more than a performance the players gave us the other night.” Trevor Francis was behind the introduction of Feel It after listening to a selection of potential run-out songs in his car on the way into Wast Hills for training. And McLeish said it was something he had done before too. He said: “We like our traditional songs like Mr Blue Sky and Keep Right On. There’s no doubt we will never discard songs like that. “But you can keep up with some new anthems. We did it at Rangers and we did it at Hibs.” Blur’s Song 2 was introduced at Ibrox by McLeish, who has recently been appealing, along with Blues’ players, for fans to get behind the side to boost their Championship promotion push. It’s the punchy sound of Viva La Vida – a Spanish phrase which means ‘long live life’ – which appeals to McLeish, as the opening lyrics are hardly uplifting: I used to rule the world, seas would rise when I gave the word, Now in the morning I sleep alone, sweep the streets I used to own. But perhaps later on in the song, he found one verse appropriate: Revolutionaries wait for my head on a silver plate, Just a puppet on a lonely string, oh who would ever want to be king? Your Ranking of Coldplay Albums & Why...
nope! I can put an exact date onto the day they captured me. 20th June 2002. I must have been aware of them before then as Ian was a fan, played Parachutes, and ran a website about them, but I don't have any recollections of them really entering my consciousness before then. Then he took me along with him to Liverpool, and I liked them so when he wanted to see them again, I went with him again. And at some point he stopped paying for my tickets because I was no longer going to keep him company, I was going for me!! :laugh3:

Your Ranking of Coldplay Albums & Why...
1) AROBTTH/Viva La Vida I still can't choose between these two. I love them both for different reasons, and making me choose beteen them is like making me choose which child has to die :P Top 5 AROBTTH - Clocks, Scientist, In My Place, Green Eyes, Politik Top 5 Viva La Vida - Reign Of Love, Viva La Vida, Strawberry Swing, Lovers In Japan, 42 2) Parachutes Has some awesome songs on it. Don't have the same love for it as the first two as I really only was aware of the album after I'd heard songs from AROBTTH performed live. Top 5 - Spies, Yellow, Don't Panic, We Never Change, Everything's Not Lost 3) X&Y I really don't get on with this album. There's a couple of songs I like on there, but the rest of it doesn't do a lot for me. It just doesn't gel in the same way. Top 4 - Fix You, Swallowed In The Sea, Til Kingdom Come, A Message,

Amazon offers No.1 single for 29p
Amazon has announced the launch of a new download promotion offering single tracks for 29p. The offer includes current chart-topper 'My Life Would Suck Without You' by Kelly Clarkson. Other songs available at 29p include Eminem's comeback track 'Crack A Bottle' and Lady GaGa's former number one 'Just Dance'. Amazon music head Julian Monaghan said: "Customers have told us how much they like our £3 album offers and we were keen to do something that was equally as appealing on individual tracks. "We believe that offering these ten chart-topping tracks for only 29p, we will encourage even more people to experience the Amazon MP3 store." Albums currently available from the store for £3 include Because Of The Times from Kings of Leon and UK number one Invaders Must Die by The Prodigy. http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/music/a148811/amazon-offers-no1-single-for-29p.html The top 10 on amazon, as I post this, is: 1. The R.E.M. Thread
REM Copyright Suit Against Danish Band May Backfire, Since The Dane's Song Came First Last year, the lawsuit between Joe Satriani and Coldplay got lots of attention, as Satriani accused Coldplay of ripping off one of his songs. Of course, Satriani's claims were greatly weakened when people turned up other songs from well before Satriani's that sounded quite similar as well. It looks like REM and Warner Music may be in a similar situation. Michael Scott points us to the news that Warner and REM are suing the Danish pop band Hej Matematik, claiming that the band's song Walkmand copies REM's 2008 song Supernatural Superserious. There's just one (somewhat major) problem. Walkmand is a cover song. The original was by another Dane, Michael Hardinger, and was called Walk, Mand!!, and was recorded in 1981... seventeen years before REM's release. In fact, Hej Matematik got permission from Michael Hardinger before doing their version. I'm guessing REM did not. Feel free to compare all three songs below: http://www.techdirt.com/articles/20090306/0311554021.shtml

4-Mar-2009: Rod Laver Arena, Melbourne, Australia - Tickets, Meetups, Reviews/Photos
So this was what happened...the buildup.... Thomas was suppose to meet me at crown for dinner last night but then traffic was so bad that by the time he met me, we only had like 45 mins before the show starts, which was at 7pm. So we decided to make our way to Rod Laver Arena to try to get a park. Went up and down Alexandra Pde and found nothing, so we had to park at the other side of the hill. Was drizzling and of course I had left my umbrella at work. Got to Rod Laver, bought fish(1 piece) and chips, Wedges and a bottle of water..for the price of $20 bucks...but what do you expect...concerts are pricey... Took our seats about 7-ish...they were halfway throught the first opening act "Decoder Ring"..not bad...left the stage about 8pm...thought the concert was going to start..but noooooooooo..they had to have a second opening act..tat was gross "Mercury Rev"..the lead singer..he sounded like a roasting donald duck, which gave me a headache and by the time they left the stage at close to 9pm, I was seriously over it.....not to mention the fact that there was this group of teenagers behind me yaking about their love life and this weird "couple" infront of me....the gal was soooo into the guy...but the guy just couldnt be bothered..it was such a sad sad sight..anywayz States 7pm seated and at 9pm....the concert wasnt starting..but was it worth the wait??!WAS IT WORTH THE WAIT??!! IT WAS FANTASTIC...IT WAS REALLY BRILLIANT....the best concert I have seen...at 9.15pm the concert started...hits and hits were belted out....when they sang Yellow, big balloons came falling..the lasers..the effects..brilliant...and in the middle of the concert, they went up to the CHEAPO seats and sang a few songs there like 'I'm a believer'....and I have got to tell you...CHRIS MARTIN IS AN ABSOLUTE GENIUS..i cant say enough..gosh...the concert ended about 11ish...so not a very long one..but brilliant..well worth the 140 bucks we paid for each ticket.... my only wish...they had more hits and do away with the stupid second act so that they can start earlier...but my oh my...brilliant is an understatement... http://joalexischeng.blogspot.com/2009/03/coldplay-melbourne-concert.html
