  1. https://popculture.com/tv-shows/2019/10/24/snl-announces-kristen-stewart-coldplay-november-2-episode/ Here they say it will be 'Coldplay'. And if they play one or two of the new songs the whle band must be there.
  2. As I said, I missed it,. I saw an announcement for it, but can't find the chat itself. And when I post the source of this announcement here, it doesn't show. https://i.redd.it/qk3gqymadou31.jpg
  3. I don't know whether anybody has already written about this, but what exactly is the text that can be seen in the background during that part of the video where the kids are dancing on the beach? It seems there are some lines written by Chris and some more lines written by Mat Whitecross. The lines are not the words of the lyrics.
  4. It's such an interesting time for interviews right now. But there are many false rumours about interviews but I am sure we are missing some of the real ones. I came across Guy's interview by chance. If we hadn't seen it, we would still hope they would tour the new album. Now we know for sure they won't and we won't be waiting for a tour in vain. There was an interview/a chat with Will which I missed, but I watched Chris's interview with Annie Mac. It would be cool if anyone who discovered a new interview would post it here, whether in this thread or an extra one doesn't matter too much.
  5. It might be a mixture of two words 'broken' and a noun beginning with 'En' like broken England. But it surely is something completely different, this album being full of surprises. :grinning:
  6. Guy said: 'It's not going to be an album that we take on tour'. So can we presume it is a sort of intimate album like 'Ghost Stories'? Or does it mean they just don't want to tour it because they have had their big stadium tours which can't be topped? Both 'Orphans' and 'Arabesque' seem to have stadium tour qualities, though. Btw, Coldplay will appear on NBC’s Saturday Night Live on November 2. I wonder whether they will play another new song besides Orphans and Arabesque.
  7. Yes, they are brilliant in their own right and if they can only become even better by collaborating, that's ok. It's funny how the two songs of the new album released so far seems to make everybody happy. "Orphans is for the 'Newplayers' and 'Arabesque' is for the 'OldPlayers'. It's strange that they release a song as their first song which had only be created at the very last minute.
  8. All that being said, I understand if those sounds aren't some folks cup of tea. But I don't think we can give no credit to the band for the concept or sound of the final piece. Those sounds are great just as the whole song is great! And of course we can give credit to the band for the final piece. But when they just play and sing by themselves that's so authentic and beautiful! I am very excited about listening to the rest of the album. There'll probably be lots of more Surprise.
  9. I like Coldplay having 'teachers' like Brian Eno, they bring so many great ideas to the band. But I think there shouldn't be too many other musicians actually playing on the albums. I know It's all about the idea of 'togetherness' which is so important for them, especially for Chris.
  10. This is exactly what I think. They should have stuck to the instruments they play themselves! They are such talented musicians and play so many instruments. They don't need that much collaboration.
  11. I was always wondering what had become of all those instrument sessions of Jonny, Will and Guy when Brian Emo kicked Chris out of the band. There were lots of snippets in the AHFOD film. Now we know. They led zu Arabesque. Perhaps there is more like that on the album.
  12. If I had heard Arabesque on the radio I would have never ever thought it was by Coldplay. It is a sort of new Genre which can't really be described, It's a Genre in itself, really mindblowing. But why the swearing at the end?? Orphans is what one would have expected Coldplay to sound like. It's catchy but I think there is a bit too much Chorus. Who is singing there?
  13. I didn't hear any of the two songs and after reading all the comments I am super excited. I am so glad I was wrong thinking they wouldn't release new stuff. It's so exciting having Guy contribute so much to the song and Jonny (?) singing in French.
  14. What about those songs 'Conscious Pilot' and 'Sine Spe Recuperandi' of which we know Coldplay composed them? Where have they gone?
  15. The more I think about the album the more I doubt we will get many brand-new songs. The posters, the typewriting,, everything is old. The band is looking backwards, not forward. So we might get lots of reworked songs, perhaps some cover songs and very few new songs. Even the music snippet that came with the poster wasn't their own music but that of a film long ago. They have probably now installed themselves in their everyday life, not too keen on changing anything. Whatever they rlease, it won't be colourful. But II hope I am wrong.
  16. What is strange about those titles, the list obviously appeared on amazon. I have an amazon account, but when I write 'Coldplay, Everyday Life' into the search bar I don't get any results, if I write 'preorder' I don't get any results either. I read somewhere that the list appeared on amazon 'too early'. That is very strange. The poster in Sao Paulo also appeared 'too early' and had to be taken down.
  17. I am also (almost) sure they wouldn't do that, but why didn't they come up with more original song titles as they did on the other 7 albums? As Chris once said, titles are normally what he starts with when writing songs, and he showed his smartphone where he had literally hundreds of titles.
  18. That's very interesting indeed. I googled the other song titles and found out that none of them is original. But I didn't find a real connection between those other songs and Coldplay. 'Sunrise' is a song by Norah Jones 'Church' is a song by Samm Henshaw 'Daddy' is a song by Beoncé. 'Old Friends' is a song by Simon and Garfunkel. 'WOTW/POTP' is a Potpourri of the 20 songs of 'The war of the worlds' Musical by Jeff Wayne etc, etc The only really original song title seems to be that of Disco2, Number 6. :)
  19. I think thse are probable, because Jonny often said he likes jazz and Will is very prominent on the letter.
  20. I see that dragonfly, too and also a face with a crown and two crosses. It's funny, the more I look at it the more things I see. :)
  21. Or by carrier pigeons.
  22. He couldn't be completely up to date with all the leaks two days ago when the video was made. Whatever the name of the song somebody mentioned was, it seemed to be a real name. But Chris was not offended or angry about the leak, which means we'll soon have the setlist or at least the names of one or the other songs.
  23. But she makes fun of them saying someone in the family copied her because she had written new material.
  24. Perhaps there will be some of these live songs that have never seen a studio version on the new album
