  1. Hmm... but what if I ever want to play the mandolin? Because I do someday... Here's a suggestion. hxxp://www.celinedionforum.com/ I have a personal vendetta after the hissyfit her husband threw at our whole city after a couple of bloggers hurt his feelings. She's never coming back here (good riddance) and I'm never going there. Works all around.
  2. Mimi, thank you so much for trying, I appreciate it. And I don't want to sound rude or difficult or ungrateful, but you're making me feel worse. There's an awkward point in university where all those new best friends (and most of the old best friends too) graduate, or at least move on. Happened so fast I never really saw it coming. Most of my friends are currently abroad. Several are traveling in other countries for the next year or two. Quite a few have moved to other provinces for work or school (including my ex... it's why we broke up. durr.) Several others have gotten married or at least moved in together never to be heard from again, especially the ones who have had kids recently. Even when we've tried to get them to come out they're too busy with their new lives to bother. (Sounds silly, but when's the last time anyone's heard from Crystal around here? Stable relationships do that.) The few who are left have exams and work and never any time anymore, so I'll probably have to wait till spring break providing they don't go travelling then. (They usually do.) Even my own siblings fall into those categories- married and busy, or abroad. And I'm the one left behind with no money (so no going out not that I would alone anyway- I'm too shy and nervous) and no idea what to do with my life. *sigh* I hate ruts. I hate ruts in February. They make everything seem worse. Especially when it's raining. Raining and too cold to go out in it. :cry2:
  3. Not a good idea- the last time I tried that while recovering from a cold (like I am now) I literally nearly caught pneumonia. It was awful. And it's only a couple of degrees above freezing last time I checked. And I live in suburbia so there's no where to walk to, just more houses. Thanks for trying though.
  4. ...if you don't like the weather, wait 10 minutes. Nova Scotia is right on the pinpoint where several different weather systems or regions or whatever collide, so it's always changing. And it's a penninsula, so we get very island like weather to begin with. But right now for the last two and a half months, all the change has been is snow-rain-snow-rain-snow-rain-snow-rain-snow-rain-snow-rain. It's pouring rain right now. I can't take it anymore. My head is going to pop. Just like this guy :bomb:. I can't remember a winter quite this miserable with quite this many storms. I'm loosing it. I need a break. The cabin fever has finally gotten to me. Make it stop. Please make it stop. I'm begging. GAHHHHH! :bigcry:
  5. Well, if we were talking about a Deep Impact type situation, in all honesty I would probably be jammed on the highway headed for higher ground with all the other sheep. Not that it would make much of a difference since I live on a peninsula that is low enough to be completely flooded and it's a two-hour drive to the next province. My big do before I die thing is world traveling (and I want to go to Glatonbury some day), so an hour wouldn't do me much good. Thing is, whenever I go I'm fine with that. I may be young, but I've done a lot of cool things in my life. There are some people in other parts of the world wearing my jewelry designs (it's my hobby), so at least I've left something behind, even in the event of a meteor wiping out the eastern seaboard. I do believe in an afterlife, so this is just a little blip compared to eternity anyway. Honesty, if I knew I had exactly an hour, either from poison or a meteor or whatever, I would probably be eating ice cream and reading my bible.
  6. Creep :sneaky::P nah... jk... I don't really like creep. Well, I like the acoustic version, but... oh never mind. Anyway, let me get this straight. You want me to take one of my absolute favorite songs (and the best thing about HTTT), and tell you something better than it. But it's one of my favorite songs. How am I supposed to do that? I mean I could pick another slightly more favorite song, but it isn't artistically any better, or necessarily even close, it's just more sentimental. The best I can do is fight fire with fire. How about 'Life in a Glass House'? Oh, or if other Radiohead songs can't count... since it's been bouncing around my head lately... Joy Division/New Order's 'Ceremony'. Now that is a great song. Durr... now you've got it stuck in my head. *sings* "There's always a siren, singing you to shipwreck. Steer away from these rocks, we'd be a walking disaster....." :nice: *runs off to listen to HTTT* P.S. I like your avi! :laugh4:
  7. Space Cadet replied to bart's topic in The Lounge
 actually good to know. And a memorable way to teach it.
  8. Can't it be something that has nothing to do with music? It'll be more fun that way- no one will know what's going on or where all the music obsessed weirdos came from.
  9. So it happened then. Good luck, I really hope it works out for you. :D
  10. Um... no :bomb: :singer: Don't get any... big ideas....
  11. exactly. Meeting people is not easy... eating people is easy... you started it.
  12. Ah. Nice to know I'm not going crazy after all. (no pun intended.)
  13. You again. I'll have you know, you created a monster the last time you were here. :P http://www.coldplaying.com/forum/showthread.php?t=42922
  14. Oh you poor thing... I could barely handle Plato when I was willingly studying classics. Can't imagine being forced to study it, especially as a science student. :worried2: Good luck.
  15. Wait a minute... only four posts? But don't I know you from somewhere? Not at ease again...?
  16. :laugh3::rolleyes: BEST. VIDEO. EVER. :nice:
  17. Philosophy of Technology. Wow. That could be really interesting, but my first impression is very, very frightening. Though I suppose a dry prof or bad material would cancel both out... :stunned:
  18. You're probably best off going through an American university if you want to study abroad. From what I understand, the process is less complicated, and you will have assurances that your degree will be recognized in America. I've heard horror stories about British degrees that weren't recognized in North America. Not necessarily something to worry about but better be safe and do your research at least.
  19. Have fun with those two, Saturn. :sneaky: P.S. Chronos/Saturn was an anklehead! :P
  20. Hmm... Well, if you're looking for recommendations, listen to "Silent Shout" by The Knife. It's a fantastic album, especially "Marble House". Seriously, best I've heard in a while. Personally, I'm completely addicted to Modeselektor at the moment. It's all Thom's fault. If you've only heard a couple of things by them I'm guessing you probably came across the most annoying examples based on what's on their myspace. My all time favorites are The Chemical Brothers (mainly their singles) and Moby. Oh yeah, and Fatboy Slim. Basically the obvious stuff. Other than that... the stuff you've been listening to- LCD Soundsystem, Hot Chip, Justice (though I haven't heard much Daft Punk since my brother moved out and took Interstella 5555 with him. boo. Took me a long time to get my head around it (had never heard of Daft Punk before), but I love that soundtrack.) Goldfrapp is good, I like what I've heard of Ladytron... liking what I've heard of !!!. Still ADORE Maps. Love trip hop, though I don't know if that counts, especially Massive Attack. Random bits and bobs, mainly. There's others, but I can't remember them off the top of my head. My number one guilty pleasure is a thing for cheesy house music- don't know where that came from, but I've liked it since I was a little kid. I suppose saying that I like electronica is a bit like saying that I like rock- it doesn't explain that I like new wave, hate emo, and don't care for blues. There's all sorts of genres out there and unfortunately more cheese than not. But it's worth looking. p.s. where are my gold stars? :P
  21. Martha!!! :D
  22. Thanks for the article. I ADORE what I've seen of Life on Mars. (John Simm!) Want to see the rest before I watch this, but really hoping it lives up to it's predecessor.
  23. Now THAT ought to be interesting. Wonder if the CBC is showing it again this year? I don't like his version of Just, but I don't hate it either, and the video for it is hilarious. He might be able to something really interesting. The chorus in GPASUYF should sound great with a soul singer doing the vocals, now that I think about it...
  24. Poor Sayid. To make it off the island and still have Ben own his ass. And that temporal shift around the island is really hurting my head. I'd say the show is really back on form now that they can write for the whole story arc rather than killing time stretching the story out. I'm really liking it so far. Michael is Ben's man on the boat. Just a guess.
