  1. Me... I'm a crazy die hard LotR freak who's been doing Gollum imitations for years for a laugh. I think my dad (both of my parents are fans- just not crazy ones) used to come up with random Gollum references back before I could even read or knew who he was. Not a great choice though, with the way the whole thing went. Anti-social asexual schitzo types aren't the sort who would hang around for the sort of stuff that went on. But as for Rick- so long and thanks for all the fish! :D
  2. But talking about various sorts of nothing is so much more fun.
  3. There's actually a video for that song, if anyone wants to see her take on some rather freaky looking mummers. It's the weird radio remix of the song, though, the album one is way better. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TCiDm8H1ggU Are you a fan of hers Tracie? I got my dad her new cd for christmas and it blew my mind! I was tempted to tell a snide newfie joke but decided against it. :P Besides... newfies are cool.
  4. ^Yeah. Apparently, not only do Chris and Simon Pegg (Shawn of the Dead guy...awesome movie btw) like to hang around and write silly songs together, they get into big lightsabre duels too! http://www.easytoplease.net/interviews.php?page=blender2 Although, apparently, Simon Pegg likes to have lightsabre duels with everybody... even the guy from Friends :stunned:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kPpk4yUf-ys Star Wars geeks are the best. :D (Well, except for LotR geeks...but I'm biased.)
  5. Well Halloween may share some origins at some point- it would be an interesting thing to research, but it's actually a bit different. As I understand it, ADULTS visit their neighbours in disguise during the Christmas season, and the whole point is to guess who the visitors are, much like we did today.
  6. I don't know if anyone was aware of this, but on alias day, we were actually participating in a variation of an ancient tradition called Mumming. We even got the timing just right! Although I've never experienced it myself, I became aware of it (in part thanks to Loreena McKennit) in the form of the Newfoundland tradition, which I understand was brought over from Ireland. From Wikipedia: "The province of Newfoundland and Labrador, in Canada, has a two-hundred-year long tradition of Mummering or Janneying between Christmas and January 6 (Twelfth Day). In complete disguise the Mummers go from house to house to entertain and socialize. Often men dress as outsized women, but no one is supposed to be recognizable." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mummers I'm curious- Does anyone else from around the world have any local traditions like this?
  7. It's funny that for all of Reilly's bragging he was two of the easiest to guess. :P
  8. The orcses have returned, preciouss? What are the pervy orcses doing here?
  9. And that's why I used an accent... which nearly did my head in! :rolleyes4:
  10. Wow :shocked2: :shocked2: :shocked2: Most (but not all) of the people I was pretty sure about have been right so far... A hint for next time: personalities may change- writing styles don't so much
  11. lol! Lurkers of the world unite! :laugh3: I guess there really is something to be said for listening more than talking... either that or I was just really really lucky with my guesses.
  12. :shocked2: *picks up jaw off floor* I won? So we both got 9/25? or was I the forgotten one? Heh... I looove Alias- one of my favorite shows. :)
  13. Eh... HCA may have started it, but I never knew grammar until college.... good/well is just a pet peeve...
  14. aaah! running out of time.... :stunned: heh... i'm at the point of mindlessly guessing now... suddenly realised how little i know of some of these people despite obsessive lurkerdom... I'll be done in a couple of minutes- I hope
  15. I picked the funky chicken. The chicken was quite nice to everyone, and was always funky, as opposed to merely insane. Heh... so far I've gotten more votes than .God. :laugh3: Weirdness.
  16. Woohoo! Thanks :) Yeah, a full 24 hours, though annoying, ought to be enough.
  17. Yay game! Are you going to make sure that there's enough time involved this time for people in different time zones to participate? I really want to play, but I'm not going to be around until very late tonight...
  18. I think that depends on how you define "nice". :laugh3: :freak: Totally. Now if the day was Halloween, or an officially designated substitute for it, and the masked rabblerousers came back the NEXT day sans masks... I do think it got a little out of control, but I did have fun. I'm sorry not everyone agrees with me. Que sera, sera?
  19. You can still revive it, can't you?
  20. Congrats! :D I just passed 1000 a little bit ago, but I never noticed either... happens, I guess.
