  1. You could try grooveshark. http://grooveshark.com Oh for goodness sake. You guys have seriously never had days like that? You're stuck in a classroom while everyone else is out playing, and the silence is getting so oppressive it's starting to sound like a noise itself? You must not have if you blame someone just for asking for help.
  2. 0/20. :dozey: It took 27 tracks to finally bring up a Coldplay song. But it was Amsterdam, so I'm happy now. It did play Muse 2 or 3 times, and Radiohead twice. 77 Coldplay tracks, 89 Radiohead tracks and only 55 Muse tracks on my mp3 player, yet no Coldplay. Go figure. That's out of 1232 tracks total. Trying again (since I didn`t know we were posting lists...): 1. We Hate You Please Die - Crash and the Boys (Scott Pilgrim VS the World Soundtrack) 2. New Amsterdam - Travis 3. Winter Winds - Mumford and Sons 4. [untitled] - Interpol 5. No More Keeping My Feet on the Ground - Coldplay 6. Weeping Willow - The Verve 7. Holy Sh*t (What a Relief) - Hey Rosetta! 8. Get Wasted in Silence - Modeselektor 9. I Want You (She`s So Heavy) - The Beatles 10. My Mistakes Were Made For You - The Last Shadow Puppets 11. Une Annee Sans Lumiere - Arcade Fire 12. Rebellion (Lies) - Arcade Fire 13. Empire Ants - Gorillaz 14. Back and Forth - Maps 15. O Green World - Gorillaz 16. I Will - Radiohead 17. Flynn Lives - Daft Punk (Tron Legacy Soundtrack) 18. The Bones of You - Elbow 19. Guiding Light - Muse 20. Forgotten Works - Klaxons 1/20. Better.
  3. "Here Comes the Son?" Goodness, that one made myself groan. Uh, excuse me.:P Also, weren't those other songs suggested by people on facebook, not the singalong group?:inquisitive:

  5. Say it ain't so. Please just say it isn't so.... :bigcry: :bigcry: :bigcry: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-13137674 "She was funny and cheeky and clever and just simply wonderful. The universe was lucky to have Sarah Jane Smith, the world was lucky to have Lis” -Russell T Davies I don't see how anyone could watch her and not completely love her. All those years of monsters, and the worst monster of them all got her in the end. :bigcry:
  6. Wow... my first draft has 42 songs on it. This is going to be tougher than I thought. *gulp*
  7. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-4w7an00vGI]YouTube - Coldplay - Don't Panic[/ame] I was really sad since late yesterday for a range of reasons (and that was even long before I found out Sarah Jane had died.) Nothing was helping and everything was just irritating me and making me worse. And then I realized how long it had been since I had listened to Parachutes, and dug it out and it was exactly what I needed. Say what you like about relative artistic merits, (Briggins! :P) but there's nothing better than early Coldplay for gentle, uplifting, meet you where you are music on a really bad day. It's like a warm blanket and a cup of tea when you need it most.
  8. *sigh* :( I'm getting old. I finally got bored of playing with those five years ago. :P Don't mind me. Enjoy. :escaping2:
  9. Dunno... I know I missed a few days... :\ Hmm... timestamp on page one is from two days ago. So I guess?
  10. Angry: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WlOTv2IscnY]YouTube - Modeselektor - Sucker Pin[/ame] Annoyed and frustrated: Dead Star or [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bHkQPOQ3EDg]YouTube - Muse - Stockholme Syndrome[/ame]

  12. Oh, I've had many long, tedious math homework nights full of answers like that. :bomb: I don't miss them.
  13. It's funny... when I got into electronics one of my motivators was that I wanted to be able to fix old audio equipment like record players because honestly, 70s stuff usually sounds better. And then my record player did die. And now I knew how to take it all apart and find out what was going on, but it was a proprietary control chip that was toast, so I couldn't replace it. :( *sigh* At least Dad's still works so I can listen to stuff. I have a fair but not huge number of records. A few special ones are new, and most of the rest are from yard sales. Lucked out at finding lots of Beatles, Blondie, and 80s era U2. For the new I have Funeral, Parachutes, and a couple of others. And then when I want to listen to something classical I snitch one of Dad's old records. I have both of those on vinyl. :D :p
  14. Been hearing this one in stores a lot lately. Love Blondie. :D [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=StKVS0eI85I]YouTube - Blondie - Call me[/ame]
  15. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JZqCwEgOv1k]YouTube - Treble Charger - American Psycho[/ame] But hate is such a strong word... I used to love and now don't really love would be more accurate for anything I would pick.
  16. I suppose posting this particular song would be the sort of thing that would land one in a straightjacket in a mental institution, but I'd say that depends on how you interpret it. Based on the not-quite-so-scary way I've always interpreted it, yeah that was me, at least all through high school. OLP - Annie http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1M2mhgrQ4Bs
  17. Right now of this very moment and currently going? Mumford and Sons are white hot, put out one of the best albums of the last couple of years, and reportedly play live better than almost anyone out there at this particular moment. That said, the British scene does seem to be regrouping at the moment. The big new acts have finally gotten a toehold overseas and the big trends of the past few years are fading. It will be interesting to see what comes next.
  18. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pxM4EbN9lMY]YouTube - The Beginning Is The End Is The Beginning-Smashing Pumpkins[/ame] Normally hate the Pumpkins and grunge in general, but let's face it, the song really did make the watchmen trailer better than the movie. Heh, I remember the first time I heard that song was in the theatre after being assaulted with a good half hour of canned emo music over the speakers. The Watchmen trailer started up, and I was like "yeah, now if only that could show those whiny emo types how to really do disillusionment.
  19. So, anyone posted any ABBA yet? No? Guess I'll have to take care of that one then. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BshxCIjNEjY]YouTube - Abba - Super Trouper[/ame] Huh... I never realized they had done proper music videos.

  22. It doesn't make me sleepy, but I love that track so much. That bit is the reason I got the whole soundtrack.
  23. My favorite to fall asleep to when I`ve had a bad day and need something to clear all the mental cobwebs away: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bJBxva-NyiI]YouTube - Earth (Brian Eno's An Ending)[/ame]
  24. I had one of those migraines once. They honestly do mimic a stroke- half of my upper body and face was paralyzed. The doc said that because that type of migraine is the result of blood vessel spasms in your head, the symptoms can be identical to all sorts of different kinds of strokes. In my case it was triggered by stress. It would make sense that it would happen to tv people- the bright lights they have shining in their faces could trigger a migraine especially if they were under stress at the time, like when reporting about another war. Uh, I`ve studied microwaves. I don`t think they could trigger that sort of migraine. It`s a very silly theory. I`m surprised even the daily mail would bother reporting about it.
  25. In a good way or a bad way? Because that can be both an insult or a compliment...
