Sounds like The Flaming Lips. A lot.

:\ I'd hate that so much. You poor thing....
  3. This is definitely a bit screwed up. I voted for The Beatles, but I didn't think they would win! Wow... they are now winning by 8 votes.. Nik, I thought you were gonna make it public?
  4. Love that first response. Can't say I've ever heard anything by him... sorry.
  5. I must say I disagree with that statement. Look at the comparissons to music before and after Sgt. Peppers. There was nothing like it before it and it influenced a generation. I don't disagree that Radiohead are experimental, but saying that The Beatles weren't is a bit of a poor call. So many bands wouldn't be around right now, one of almost definitely being Radiohead (although probably not directly), if not for The Beatles. And I do realise that you said that Radiohead were more experimental and not that the Beatles weren't experimental at all, but The Beatles were almost definitely more experimental than Radiohead. They were pretty much the first band to use any electronica and synthetic effects. Don't get me wrong, I like Radiohead and The Beatles pretty evenly (maybe even Radiohead more).
  6. WTF?! I voted The Beatles thinking they had no chance and they are winning?! Wow.... never thought I'd see that. Oh well, it really is win-win for me.
  7. It died an ugly death from back catalogue...... Yeah I agree, there is nothing good in the pop industry these days. Yet it continues to sell the most because it is fashionable.
  8. Sounds pretty awesome, I'd be willing to participate but I'd have to record something I was happy with.
  9. That'll be the coldest it gets all year here, and then we'll get up to the 39C averages.
  10. How do you do the degrees sign?
  11. I miss warm, stupid winter. It is about 19C here now. Is that cold? Coz it is freezing for me.
  12. ^wtf?! You sure? wasn't the hottest ever recorded temperature 52C?
  13. Anyone Can Play Guitar is pretty terrible. The only good songs on Pablo are 'Creep', 'I Can't', and maybe 'You' and 'Prove Yourself'.

    AC/DC

Adam's Ants (they really were a band).
  16. I absolutely love the Beatles, in fact I am listening to 'Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds' right now. But there are certain bands I don't discuss, for no particular reason. Probably because I know that that thread will die. Case in point: Foo Fighters are one of my favourite bands but I never discuss them because bumping their thread would be a pretty big waste of time. I don't care about not discussing it, I can keep certain bands to myself and if I really want to I will join a forum concerning that particualr band. I wonder if there are more people thinking in that way and really there are a bunch of people who are going to post in a band's thread only if someone else does. I think I'm gonna end up voting Beatles and U2 for this one. Radiohead vs Beatles would be extremely hard if they were evenly matched but I know that Radiohead will win easily anyway so that just makes it easier for me. I sorta think of Radiohead as a modern-day Beatles. The Beatles influenced a generation and so have Radiohead. Radiohead really don't get the credit they deserve. Maybe everyone will realise how great they were in 20 years. U2, because as Nik said, they are really one of the only good bands of the 80's. (Such a bad period for music ). Although I do sorta respect their new stuff as well. Muse has never done anything for me. Maybe that will change in the future.
  17. :nice:
  18. Surely there is nobody that desperate to see there favourite bands win. Crap! The Beatles vs. Radiohead. There have been so many annoying match-ups in this it is not funny. :laugh4:. Except I just laughed....

Everyone here probably already has those songs anyway.
