  1. ^Very nice!! So, I took a few of my pictures from the Arctic Monkeys gig and touched them up in my photo editor program. It's a new technique that I'm trying out a bit, just giving the pictures a different look than just a normal photograph. Little "artsier". ;) Tell me if it works or sucks ass. :laugh4:
  2. Oh, believe me. I do too..........:stunned: What a sweetheart.... :nice: Thanks, I hope my knees get better too....... I seem to be walking around in my skirts a lot, I wear my bruises and scratches like badges.... Which is probably a VERY unhealthy attitude:laugh3: :laugh3:
  3. Fuckin' gorgeous. :stunned:
  4. Whoa!!!!!!!! Sounds like you had an AMAZING time, knew you would!! :D Can't wait to see your pictures, I'm sure they're great! ;) Great job on the setlist! I noticed Alex looks over to the sides a lot too, er... when he wasn't watching people nearly kill me in front of him... :laugh4:
  5. but die-hard fans might rush to judge Under the Iron Sea as sounding a bit too much like U2. Oh my GOD. I'm a die-hard Keane AND U2 fan and I'm sick of this fucking bullshit. Shove the comparisons up ya ass, why doncha fuckin' reviewers.... *storms off*
  6. I love both bands. I didn't mean to compare them, or insinuate that I want Coldplay to BECOME Radiohead. Much to the contrary!!!! What I mean is....... Well, at my Radiohead show every single song was a surprise to me. Maybe it's because I went in there naive, not knowing WHAT to expect. But I know that there were concert veterans who were just as shocked as I. I looked at a couple of setlists from the shows before the Boston one, but they didn't play ANYTHING remotely similiar to that. That's what I like. I don't want to know what a band's going to play by looking at the setlist from the day before. I was incredibly emotionally invested into the Radiohead show. I felt kind of strange with Coldplay the second time. It was almost like I was going through the motions of it all.... I knew the call back during The Scientist, I knew exactly where in 'Politik' Chris would start to ad-lib. Perhaps the thing that saved the show from being totally ordinary was when Chris pulled a girl up during the acoustic set. But now that's becoming a gimmick with them as well. I want Coldplay to grow into some spontaineity. They do have a fairly large back catalogue, three albums and lots of unreleased songs. That shouldn't be an excuse.
  7. Well I couldn't consider myself a true fan if I blindly loved everything the guys do. And it's not that I don't enjoy the Coldplay shows I go to. It's just.... They have a LOOOOOOOONG way to go before they're up to the same par that Radiohead is at. They're still a relatively young band, but that shouldn't be an excuse to take the easy way out each night. People like some intimacy, and sometimes that can come out with a setlist (it shows that the artists put thought into EACH show and not generalize every single one). Sometimes I wonder if Coldplay plays gigs to get them done or to enjoy them.... :\
  8. Holy crap... that Bonnaroo setlist... I wish I went now... :stunned: Too bad I had finals this week, and not last. I agree with you guys, it's so obvious who the big one is here. When I saw RH in concert it was just glaringly apparent that they are..... so much BETTER than Coldplay. Musically, both bands do different things for me of course. But... live... Radiohead AMAZED me. I worry for Coldplay, it's so easy to get burned out doing the same fucking setlist every time you play. At least with Radiohead they keep it fresh and keep all of the fans on their toes. Coldplay can at least bring back some old stuff, maybe try a few b-sides out, just fuck around for once instead of being such squares when it comes to setlists.
  9. Whoa, are you joking? They're GREAT pictures!!!! Nice ones of Jamie, heh! I wish Alex came out during the WAS set at my show, I was waiting for him to!!! Haha, well, beggers can't be choosers ;)
  10. Oh dear. Huh. They're all a bit too pretty boy for me...... I'm a strange person.
  11. Oh dear, I'm on a roll. *melts* 22 days until I see Dirty Pretty Things in Ireland! Oh my... I might just drop dead.
  12. Oh please, don't get me started on Carl. :wideeyed:
  13. I know, he's so adorable and hot in a bizarre way. The drugs mar that. I hope he turns around soon.
  14. lmfao oh man, that Pete pic. He looks like a ghost, poor soul :( I love those Thom pics. I've never found him... physically attractive, but he's such an amazing man you can't help but be attracted to his spirit and voice....
  15. It was absolute MADNESS. Being in front of Alex's mic was fucking amazing.:stunned: :wink3: I put a link to my pictures and review in the Arctic Monkeys thread, check it out if you want!
  16. Thanks Steph!!! :D
  17. Their new album sounds absolutely NOTHING like Coldplay. Hopes & Fears did have some obvious tracks that were mildly Coldplay inspired. However, I really cannot hear one song on UTIS that is ANYTHING like what Coldplay's done. They've totally killed that comparison, for me. I love it. I still do hear a little bit of Radiohead, but only once or twice for a few seconds. The chord progressions, lyrical themes, and basic melodies are nothing like anything Coldplay has (or may ever) done.
  18. They are the funniest guys in the whole world. I love them a lot, lmfao! My pictures from last night:
  19. The sexiest man, as caught on film by me... :wideeyed: ;) Sorry, i feel a primal need to tote this pictures around.... LMFAO! Alex Turner is disturbingly sexy in the flesh........ :stunned:
  20. Thanks so much!!! Well, I talk about ALL of that in my entry on Greatest Journal (which is public :) ): http://www.greatestjournal.com/users/rocknserve/308855.html But here's the short answer, people started to arrive around 6-6:30. I was fourth at 4:15, a couple girls were there at 12pm. It was kind of surprising to both me and the AM concert veterans that there weren't more people showing up before 6ish. By 7:15 there were about 70 people around. I highly recommend either getting a rail or staying in the back or to the side, do not stand in the center towards the front of the stage. LMFAO unless you really DO want to mosh ;) They didn't even check me, all they did was check bags. And I didn't have a bag, since I wanted to get in as fast as I could to avoid any rushing. So I just had my camera and my ticket in my right hand, which I kind of put under my shirt discreetly JUST incase. But a lot of people were taking pictures and video, and no one did anything about it. Small venues really don't care, I love it. Hope you guys enjoy my entry, leave me some feedback on my pictures. I'm quite proud of them!!!
  21. Yep! :D Never taken better pictures in my whole life, I can't wait to share all of them!! :)
  22. haha, I should be uploading my pictures right now. But instead I'm fixing my avi and sig. lol. Like 'em?
  23. It's calmer around Jamie, well uh..... as calm as a riot can get. ;) He's so cute (Jamie, I mean, although they all are). Ah, I just woke up (nothing like a 5 hour nap). So I'm ready to work on resizing and messing with the rest of my pictures. Expect my update in an hour or so. :)
  24. Went to an Arctic Monkeys show yesterday at the Avalon in Boston. Turns out the Axis is directly next door. I checked it out, it's a fucking tiny little hole in the wall. Even smaller than the Avalon! I think the show next week might only be about 200-250 people. Wow. I'm so psyched!
