  5. I take that as a compliment, Ian! :-D
  6. OK, now I've worked out how to do this, here's one of my son, George (he's the one nearest the camera, and his hair's back to its normal colour now!) 8) . Boosting the ranks of male-pic-postings!!
  7. Here's one from me - one of my fave people of all time - Al Stewart (but this is a rather old pic ... )
  8. 'specially for a man .... :D lol
  9. Aww, even Desert Island Discs allows you to take 8 - but then, they're just tracks .... Um, at the moment I would take 'Saturday' by Reef, cos I just can't get it out of my brain.
  10. Hey thanks Chrissy! I had no idea it went back to Socrates! I wonder what it must've been like at a dinner party in those days - a dinner party with all the philosophers around the table! The conversation would have been interesting ... ! :-D
  11. Haven't you seen it? I thought she'd already posted it somewhere - didn't you Maria? It's very sweet!!! :-D
  12. Here's one of me at Christmas. I was playing with my new mini digital camera - it's the size of a matchbox.
  13. OMG - that is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO cute!!!
  14. All the girls' pics are so beautiful!!! C'mon guys, let's have some of you, even if there ARE only a few of you! Ian - you start ...... :D
  15. Weeell - not knowing exactly how far you got .... Well, he sees a beautiful young girl one day, and plays this wonderful piece for her (but to himself because she's outside on deck and can't hear him), and he falls in love with her immediately and eventually speaks to her, but doesn't really say very much, except that he seems to have known her father. She says where she lives and he vows to himself to go ashore and visit. He gets all ready and has a huge send-off, but chickens out on the steps and comes back without ever setting foot on dry land. The film cuts to a long time in the future, when the ship is a rotting hulk about to be destroyed - the trumpet playing guy (his friend) comes looking for him, telling the authorities there is someone still aboard. He finds him and it's a very emotional scene when 1900 says goodbye for ever. Then they blow up the ship and the film plays out to the song he wrote for the girl. A real tearjerker, I can tell you!
  16. You're not the only one ...... :-o
  17. London - definitely! And hey, Sternly - have you ever been to Moscow? I went there once! :-D
  18. I can remember being 19 - I thought I knew everything, but I'd really hardly started. I know now that I still hardly know ANYTHING! A good quote from someone somewhere (don't know who - see - don't even know who I'm quoting :? ) "The only thing you learn from experience is that you DON'T learn from experience" ! Makes me feel better, somehow ..... :-D
